#

you can turn it off where they wont know if you've read the message though

I hate leaving people on read but I can’t/won’t always respond on time, so I keep read receipts off.

#

depends on the person

#

i keep them off for my dad but on for friends

deep merlin
#

yall dont just be reading them from the notifications?

#

yall need to step up your ignoring game

^

deep merlin
#

if you have read receipts on and just read the notifications your excuse is more legitimate

#

"sorry i didn't read your message til this morning"

#

ha, little do they know you read the notification last night

#

you have, in fact, had 12 hours to think about the response as well

#

so that when you respond, the recipient will believe you are much more off the cuff and witty

#

having the read receipts turned on gives your messager a false sense of real-time correspondence which can be exploited
