Outside of the lore, Vessel as a name makes sense to me. I consider the definition as a boat, carrying things across waters. Also outside of the definition of blood vessel, it also means "a person who has a particular quality or who is used for a particular purpose".
I think it's what we carry in life and our purpose. Especially considering they used their grandfathers
