The lyrics are boring, the production is boring, and the entire song (bar the bridge, which is a cool moment) is unmemorable as a result. Saturday is a fun jam with some legit layered production, a much more complete sound, and some actually engaging/memorable lyrics. On top of that, Saturday has a killer music video (Josh attempting the high note), and Never Take It does not

i think part of the reason he said that though was because of all the hate he got about the song from the fans. if u remember during the sai era he was actually really excited about saturday and talked about it with lots of pride. while i may agree with you on some points (it being pretty repetitive and lacking the “staple” twenty one pilots sound that we’re used to), i think it was a really great production of its’ time. while the world was dark and scary, it gave us some light hearted melodies with lyrics we could all relate to and a great beat to dance to.
