I turned off emergency alerts on my phone because if we ever got bombed I wanted to be asleep. I forced myself to sleep every night, but I would stay up on the verge of tears and wanting the thoughts to just go away. It’s funny to say, but the only thing that would distract me enough to sleep was Let’s Game It Out videos on YouTube. My secondary reason for nighttime anxiety was the fear of death of my family. My cat was 20, and I knew every day with him might be his last. My dog has heart problems, another one of my dogs had epilepsy.
