people were really looking at this channel to start with

so almost every submission early on has upwards of 20 votes

whereas later submissions only get like 10 to 15 max

on the contrary, I think it would be more fair; cause there’s no point in having a deadline if not every submission pre-deadline doesn’t get the same shot as each other. this isn’t even for me, there’s submissions far better than mine that are being sold extremely short because they just weren’t submitted early on

it’s very favoured to those who work quickly or who just had time that others didn’t

I think the point was to get your entries in when submissions opened and the votes would be tallied by the deadline. Some entries submitted later have done very well. Just because an entry was one or two days post the start doesn't mean that the work isn't good. It doesn't mean that with very little to vote on people just throw votes at what was available at the time. People will vote for what they are drawn to, and you can vote for multiple entries. I have voted for several. It's unfair to submit an entry 2 days before the deadline and expect a different result.

In that case, it should have been made clear that the deadline was for votes, not for submissions. It should absolutely be fair to submit something 2 days before the deadline and get the same result as those who submitted early, because like I said, there's very little point in a deadline if it doesn't give everyone equal opportunity to get votes lol. I'm not gonna debate this further tho cause it'll clog the chat

We've gotten a suggestion regarding this but it was sent after several have already submitted so it didnt feel fair to reset or do anything about this one. However, we will be considering some changes to the system for upcoming art events. When it comes to this one, we shall ping the role to remind people to vote before counting the final votes.
