We have this Danish game where you make a rice porridge and add whipped cream and almonds to it (it's called risalamande), and you put one whole almond into it. Whoever gets the whole almond served in their bowl and finds it, wins some small gift

We also use that same rice porridge to make "klatkager" (splat cakes), which is literally just pancakes with rice porridge in them. They are DELICIOUS

I have a lot of traditions that are super important to me hehe
On Christmas Eve we all go to my grandparents house and give each other gifts. Each of the grandkids has a pile of presents in the basement near the Christmas tree, as well as a stocking filled with candy and sometimes little trinkets or gift cards. After that we go back upstairs and have a big Christmas dinner. We have baked ham, turkey, baked potatoes, corn, rolls, various vegetables, cranberry sauce, these pickle/cheese/meat log thingies, all sorts of pies (my favorite is pecan), Russian tea cakes, tea, and every year my mom makes a different dessert. After dinner my grandpa sometimes shakes bells to make it sound like Santa is here. We all know it’s him but it’s still fun. Then, after we get home, there are always matching pajamas waiting for us underneath our tree. We read The Night Before Christmas, leave out cookies and eggnog, and go to sleep.
This year my sister and parents had the flu so we couldn’t do our normal plans but we had fun anyways! We spent all Christmas Eve wrapping presents and making desserts, and my grandparents brought us a ham and some other Christmas food :)
