most of the song is rly sad, talking about backsliding and feeling like ur gonna break, but despite al that, the hook ends with "i gotta snap back," almost like its inevitable, like he has no choice to push on through. and i know that "push on through" is from oldies station, but nothing sounds more like someone repeatedly getting back up than the end of snap back, where hes praying for his elasticity to return, almost like hes manifesting it. the song just makes me feel weirdly hopeful despite its topics

There are a lot of Clancy songs that are very comparable to Trench songs. For example Neon Gravestones and Snap Back, they both have spoken lyrics with singing in the chorus or pre chorus. They both have the most introspective lyrics in their respective albums and I don’t appreciate either of them enough because of the spoken lyrics
