Which actually could make sense if clancy is actually dead as hinted by SAIs letters being rearranged. Because in order to be siezed they have to be dead if I remember right. But if that's the case is he seized by... tyler? Because I can't imagine the bishops would seize clancy just to fight the bishops. So maybe, the shots of tyler screaming on the shore, mimicking clancys battle is actually tyler seizing clancy. And tyler is a FORMER bishop who broke the cycle. Or OR tyler and nico are and aren't the same person. Nico derived from tyler like when tyler stepped away nico filled his place but it was Tyler's insecurities that made a 2nd physical being. Hmmm. Idk I think there's some technicalities that have to be looked at in order to keep the ending quiet. If mark didn't say Clancy is alive and always has been, there's the technicality. Clancy maybe isn't dead, but WAS dead. He was a corpse that was seized years ago but tyler literally breathed new life into him. So while Clancy, to dema, is dead, Tyler figured out how to give him a new life. Maybe still controlled by tyler overall, but alive

Tyler's insecurities were enough to conjure a literal being, while also Tyler's good side was able to be extracted and killed leaving tyler himself, as a vessel, not dead, but without much feeling of right and wrong so he had to use these 9+ years to remember and become a new version of who he once was. In that time he was able to raise his angel side from the dead and use it to cause and create chaos which is kinda poetic

I know there was such theory but I don't think so. Clancy is quite special in the world of Trench, more like 'the chosen one' if you will. In Paladin mv banditos come to him cause they want him to lead the rebellion. Usually I see Clancy as representation of Tyler - he's struggling like all of us but is more powerful because he's an artist, people know him and listen to him and therefore with the help of Torchbearer (Josh) he can lead people, guide them in a way. So I don't think Clancy is just a title that can be taken by anyone
