ALSO i went to a taylor swift concert and in a stadium with like over 60k people the crowd is LOUD. wearing earplugs helped me hear taylor better and less of the crowd. and looking back at my videos the crowd was so loud but i didnt even notice during the show bc of my earplugs. also i got nothing fancy at all for mine, literally just like the stuff you get to sleep or whatever

if im at barricade or near speakers it hurts, but back of the pit was an enjoyable volume for me at some venues

they like lower the sound but still let you actually hear the music whereas when i use regular ear plugs everything just feels muffled

+1 earplugs are great and always useful

if nothing else have em on hand and then don't use them, but even aside from hurting your ears it can often make it easier to hear more of the performance and less of the people around you as storm said

also, your ears do not need to be hurting for hearing damage to occur, protect yoself

I really suggest earplugs. If you are on the fence at least get a decent cheaper pair from Amazon or something and try them out. If you absolutely hate it, take them out but I definitely would be prepared. I never used to wear earplugs because I just didn't think of it but the last several years I always have them. the first show of tour will always get more people camping bc they're excited but you also have to remember

someone could start camping 100 days before the show, that doesn't say anything about where you'll be if you get there day of. the amount of people that are even there camping the night before for any given tour date is going to be such a minority compared to the amount of people that get there day of

this is why i always feel like the "people are starting the line x days early" discourse is overblown, it leads people to think they're going to be super far back in pit when they get there day of, even if they're there a few hours+ before doors and that's just not the case

It's not an unfortunate thing for it to stay, but I don't think it would be the biggest deal if they dropped it from one tour. The general fan would care more if Stressed Out/Ride was cut, and the hardcore fans would appreciate a deeper cut from Vessel taking its place. Only song that cannot be removed is Trees for obvious reasons.

Not sure. Feels like they made their statement band crew are hands off until 8 am or whatever time the venue specifies day of show. So whoever is there first day of show gets wristbands. I look forward to seeing how this plays out, the line drama was certainly the lowlight of the Newport show (even more than the heat) and if it’s continued to be handled so poorly I would have to rethink my ticket purchase.

I was there and could have gone to get a wristband and been in the first 100 however o took a shot of faith in the band/venue and just slept in my car so I ended up in line around the 150-200 fan line. Do I wish I had of had the balls to go up in the top 20 like those girls do but I don’t do well with being bullied and would have cried for them being mean but that’s what happens when you follow venue rules and fight the fan line

my sister and i camped out when i was 10 years old for twenty one pilots (when i was younger i only camped like one night with her and someone held my spot the other nights) but we have only had great experiences with others in line. its upsetting that people mess it up for people like us who only do whats fair in regards to camping out because i would love to get barricade again. we ended up getting 6th and 7th in line at an austin show for the trench era and it was so fun! my sister has camped for at least 5 other concerts for tøp and never any complaints, so sad.

It’s going to be very interesting to see how things play out today at the first show, but I feel like the only way this will work (and this is what they might be planning to do) is if the 500 wristbands are randomly numbered.

If the first person to get a wristband is automatically #1 in line, this will lead to either (a.) a potential rush of fans right at 8:00AM that could lead to trampling/arguing or (b.) people showing up way before that time, whether it be hours or days, to get the very front spots. If the wristbands they hand out become random, it takes away the incentive to camp multiple days as you might end up being the 500th in line although you’ve dedicated the most time.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hoping this is how they end up doing it to shut down the current situation, but we’ll just have to wait a bit longer to see how things are handled. I’m very happy that the band has finally addressed this issue because it’s been ridiculous for many tours now.

For other shows were the handed out numbered wristbands random they gave the first 100 people there a number and then randomly picked one of them to start with counter with. Each number could take up to 3 extra people. But that brought out people being extra night beforehand so they could meet new friends to join as the plus 3 and then the second it worked out for them well they turned a cold should and ignored anyone buying the 4 people using the number and wouldn’t look them in the eye because they knew they screwed what could have been a great new friend over. So yea mean people will always be mean people until it helps them out for front row ):

This is why I think everyone would need a wristband indicating their spot in line. If the person who got #1 in line could bring three people with them, that could lead to people paying money for that spot.

They could also do different colors and then randomize the colors like this:

RED #1 - #100
YELLOW #1 - #100

PURPLE #1 - #100

Kind of the best middle ground between a pure number system and a completely random system. The person who shows up first will be #1 but only if their color is selected to go into the venue first.
