More or less i feel like the tune depends on what they're going for lorewise, the sound should relate to the ending, and if i know top, and my favorite song from them, paladin strait sounds like what's depicted in the mv. So i think they'll accomplish that.

I will say that the song must be long if they are doing dema and going back to multiple other music videos so I’m guessing 6 minutes is likely. Another reason I think this is because of their collaboration with Yung Blud for The Contract and he has a 6 minute opener for his album and they could have taken inspiration from that idea during conversations to just chatting about the story together

no, while the label has been misdirecting insiders like him a lot this era there are some things he has known and has told us before we knew. for example, while things were still very silent about drum show and its release, he said something about the videos being uploaded to youtube. he also knew about and told us about an "upcoming tba on atlantic's slate" that ended up being breach before it was even announced. he also told us about how this album did have more than 12 tracks when there was still some uncertainty around it. majority of the stuff yall say he's gotten "wrong" has been due to us misinterpreting what he says or taking it at face value because iirc english isnt his first language and he already has to be careful about what he says.
there is some evidence to support a third single outside of just him (the robot voices iswc and past rollouts, for example), but id argue his info is just as if not more compelling given his track record and the fact the info comes from his job. not everyones gonna be 100% correct 100% of the time. your choice not to believe him on that though

honestly? atp i’d rather them spend the weeks leading up to the album teasing city walls/the full record. i’m surprised that tyler gave away as much as he did in that interview. not only the budget, but the concept of revisiting old music videos as well. very interesting that he’s seemingly open with that aspect of it. makes me wonder if we’re getting a much longer video (possibly including intentions?).

Tyler did say that Intentions was the response/rationalization of the ending of city walls, maybe not the song itself but possibly the MV’s ending. i think it’d make sense to make them a packaged deal.

i don’t think it really matters all too much, because the album itself has its own theme / overarching concept, that is most likely separate to the VISUAL lore that we’ve gotten with the music videos.

For example, Clancy as a record is about backsliding and the fear of it, and pushing yourself out of those places. at least in my interpretation. this can be seen as a good companion piece/message in relation to the lore, but it doesn’t indicate where THAT story is heading outside of select songs.

So, i think the same principle can be applied with Breach. we have The Contract and City Walls which are the tracks that are more in tune with the visual story, but the rest of the songs act as companion pieces that aid the story and give it more depth. while not affecting the physical aspects of the narrative.

also most songs dont have any direct correlation to the storyline outside of the mv

so its not a crazy out there concept that the city walls mv could be the ending of the storyline, especially since intentions seems to be intended as the ending of the music side of it both on the album and in terms of meaning

If they can convey the feeling behind it musically or lyrically the length doesn’t really matter. What makes them unique to me besides the obvious lore and connection with the fan base, is that they can really produce something that can have deep meaning to mass groups of people who all feel and relate to it in a different way. Some people don’t process information in this way or it just may not be their style and that is ok. Chances are their playlist isn’t for me either.

I get it. I think it is also how they span genres. You can’t really place them in a category with expectations. If you look at where they are pulling from and pulling off without being try hard, I think they hit the mark. A song like drum show doesn’t need to have a ton going on. It’s the raw straight to the point scream it out in your car jam it is supposed to be. Just turn it up and let it out. At the same time, I am sure that we will traverse a whole spectrum of genres and sounds on this album.

Negative criticism is just as important as positive criticism when it comes to an artist's development.

yes but the ending of the lore is something the band have been working on for like 10+ years and have put in a lot of time and money and effort to present to us in a way thats meaningful to not only them but to us and spreading a leak about the ending specifically just feels insanely gross to me idk. not only that but leaking the ending really cheapens the effect that it wouldve had it not been spread around. like thats the one thing i feel should be off limits here idk. idgaf about leaks typically but ive been following this story since the beginning and think the way its meant to be presented should be the way we get it, not through some potential leaker. thats just me tho
