in conclusion its unfair to say any song is bad especially if you maybe just think the artist isnt a fan of the band and this is a sentiment that tyler follows however it is fair enough to say that some of the covers arent for you and to make honest critiques rather than having a negative opnion on the song as a whole

i get this feeling too, i think it’s because of the types of albums clancy and breach are. i see clancy as a character album like blurryface, adding more context to the character than the story but still keeping the story going through parallel and some direct tracks. trench is most likely gonna parallel breach as a concept album that revolves around the lore and solidifies the world building from a story perspective,

id actually go the other way on that, since we now know breach wasnt even planned as an album and the decision to make it its own project instead of a deluxe was made pretty late when they'd already released clancy it would make the most sense to me if its shorter than clancy, wouldnt be surprised if its a similar length to sai (although i would greatly prefer a longer album)

if this was all planned out from the beginning id definitely agree that story wise it would make more sense as a longer project, but since it was an unplanned expansion on what was originally just gonna be a couple songs added to clancy i think it swings in the other direction

I wouldn't say it's confirmed, but the first bar is suspiciously similar.

It's pretty likely that Breach is a combination of a lot of prior influences and ideas, cobbled up to form a new beast. But I mean that in the best way. This is definitely evidenced by the composition of The Contract - which has synthwave elements that callback to Vessel, post-new wave rock elements akin to Shy Away, MTV Unplugged vibes (drum and vocal mixing, particularly that rap verse), a little bit of Clancy-esque vocal effects (I'm looking at you, RiTN), and then the ethereal feel of Trench.

If the rest of the album has this level of versatility, this will be Trench's successor. I'm not sure if anything can top Trench's place in terms of hitting all the marks, but The Contract is the closest they've gotten to that point in terms of a lead single.

My theory on "Flowers" as a track name is that it will be Torchbearer's theme song from the Clancy Tour, brought into a full track. As alluded to by the synth bass at the beginning of The Contract MV when Nico hovers in being the exact same bass from the Torchbearer theme, as well as the TB theme being at the end of the video.

The song will focus around the repeated imagery of the flowers in the storyline. The yellow flowers used by TB and the Banditos to deter seizing, the yellow flowers in the NaTN music video representing a series of failed escape attempts, and the rebel red carnation spoken of in Chlorine but also throughout Trench's promo art. And the song as a whole will basically represent Torchbearer being on his last limb, trying to stop Clancy from falling to the dark side yet noticing a change in Clancy's demeanor.

Or if the song is from Clancy's POV, it will delve further into their relationship - feelings of trust leading to betrayal, and so on.

Imo the "TB theme" is something similar to the lane boy live intro from the SAI era, basically a special intro for navigating
They have cool dramatic instrumental intro sections at their live shows quite often,
There was one for heathens during the icy tour, or for example the jumpsuit intro track at the bandito tour
This one just really stuck with fans, and I think they wanted to use it in the music video since the jacket moment was so important to what's happening in the contract

so I don't think we'll get it on an album until Clancy Tour live
