I’ve actually only listened to one album released in 2023 which was Welcome by The Arcadian Wild. Great folk music that is lighthearted but beautiful in it’s own way. I’d give it a solid 8/10 with my fav track being Big Sky, MT

The album I’ve enjoyed most this year though is hands down War Stories by UNKLE. It’s the complete opposite of Welcome being a heavy rock album with dark tones and just really perfectly fitting a apocalypse/doomsday scenario. 10/10 fav track: Burn My Shadow

Album of the year... probably either Coco Moon by Owl City or True Viridian by Skyler Acord.
Tbh most of the music I've discovered via Spotify or via friends this year are not new releases. Been listening to a lot of Two Door Cinema Club, Dua Lipa, etc. also I've been getting back into artists I hadn't listened to in a long time, such as Chvrches, Snail's House, and Herbie Hancock. Of course TOP makes its way into most of my playlists, mainly SAI.
