Forca bruta is what got me into the wide world of brasilian music, and subsequently what got me more motivated to listening to international releases and broadening my horizons in general

Scoring the end of the world motionless in white
Neil Ciciergia and Joe Hawley's songs both opened up multiple new genres to me that I didn't ever really know or care for beforehand, but now I think I'm less picky with my music and open to more ideas rather than saying "this is garbage!" to anything that wasn't just like TOP
Although, I don't listen to much of Neil's music anymore
the recommended songs after this introduced me to soooo many artists i still listen to 2 years later
(including peter mcpoland)
my most recent one would be lovejoys "wake up & its over"
i got trauma over lovejoy
The 2018 Into The Spider-Verse album really encouraged me to listen to more rap. It’s quite difficult to find any that’s clean, but I’ve come to appreciate it for what it is.
Funny enough, twenty one pilots right after they released blurryface. Now, I get my taste that I eventually developed on my own from my mother, because she’d listen from the Beatles, to Pink Floyd, limp bizkit to Billie Eilish, as she sometimes tries to keep up to date with newer music and she stumbled across tear in my heart and showed that to me, and that was only the start
From there, I’d been introduced to some music by a really good old friend of mine, and “mr doctor man” by Palaye Royale, and “identity” or “riptide” by grandson really developed my taste. On my own, “doctor doctor” by Yungblud 🖤
For me, the obvious first answer is Twenty Øne Piløts, but more recently I’ve discovered something amazing:
Lovejoy is an amazing band

Lmao
my ex was the one that introduced them to me
Ohhhhh
oh my god there is so many
Other than Twenty One Pilots, probably Now, Not Yet by Half•Alive for introspective music, Battle scars by Paradise Fears, Nurture by Porter Robinson and most early stuff by Lindsey Sterling and The Fat Rat led me to discovering lots of artists and that i like. There’s a lot more too, but that’s the just. (And that’s just a few)
Sorry this is off topic but I love your pfp and goblin
I once saw a fan edit of Twenty One Pilots with a beautiful song in the background, so I found out the song's name and checked it out, the song's name was "Dauðalogn" by "Sigur Rós" and it introduced me to a mindblowing album - "Valtari". It was just an incredible first listen, so I decided to listen to their other albums as well and discovered more art. They've taken me on such an incredible journey. I'm so glad I've discovered them. :))

Azahriah 💗💚
So intelligent person that always has a message and deep lyrics. His voice is so lovely to listen to. He have a vision lager than music. The creativity and art is amazing. He is self taught and he produces his own songs. And can do everything by himself.
💚💗 One of his biggest inspirations is 💛Twenty one pilots 💛
This was one of the first songs I heard by him. 💚💗

blurryface & ruler of everything by tally hall
Chlorine is the very first song I ever heard of Twenty One Pilots, and from there my interest has just shot up ❤️
mm food and probably in rainbows
okay, so Level Of Concern was the song that got me into Twenty One Pilots, but Shy Away was the one that really hooked me onto the band and really made me start listening to them. I also think that if it weren't for me discovering Twenty One Pilots, I might not have had the same music taste since they shaped that, and I wouldn't have liked as many of the bands that I currently like.
Shy away,house of gold

The Light Upon Us by Talos got me hooked on atmospheric/ethereal music
https://open.spotify.com/album/7aNclGRxTysfh6z0d8671k got me completely obsessed with electronics
all of slipknot's music, but specifically We Are Not Your Kind, got me hooked on heavy and rhythmic metal https://music.apple.com/us/album/we-are-not-your-kind/1463706038
arctic monkeys am 🙈🙉🙊
lorde melodrama, bmth that’s the spirit, honorary mention for silver springs
In the aeroplane over the sea, I'm wide awake, it's morning. And "mellon collie and the infinite sadness."
niche syndrome by one ok rock. it's the album that got me into them (they've become my most listened to artist of all time only in the past few months) and it got me into a ton of other j-rock bands. https://open.spotify.com/album/4OKBuE9F8MTCV7nnsBRcsK?si=Bs2G-58rQ4-PfJU8AQEcHQ
inside your head by survive said the prophet is another album that helped shape my taste in the past few months
definitely for emma, forever ago. it's recently shaped one of my music moods, which relates to calmness and tranquility.
my music taste ranges from rock and hip hop to calm songs like these depending on what stage of the day i'm in. most of the songs in this album are beautifully calm
LOL
My current taste is anything music by Dominic Fike 🙂
Save Rock and Roll (the album) by Fallout Boy really changed mine to Modern Rock stuff.
oh lord this is such a huge question! for a mix of my current and historical musical taste i'd say Tin Drum by Japan, Sempiternal by BMTH and The Joshua Tree by U2
sadly blurryface
graduation
blurryface and the black parade
Mr Morales and the big steppers 100%. Got me into a lot of hip hop r&b and rap. Kendrick is probably my top artist right now.
blurryface, tonight (peter mcpoland single), anything tstm, vaxis ii, tbh there’s too much
neutral milk hotel - in the aeroplane over the sea, helped me stop listening to bad music and discover good music
bright eyes and nmh so based
Melanie Martinez was like my music awakening. I was about 10 in 2015 so when crybaby came out I instantly got like obsessed with her and ever since my music taste actually grew cause before I had no interest in music whatsoever.
my dad got me really into pet shop boys, then new order, and here i am with joy division lol
yeah my parents influenced my music a lot. my dad got me into smashing pumpkins, lana, mazzy star, the cranberries, pink floyd etc. my mom got me into the cure, rem, phil collins, and other 70/80s stuff
metallica or Audioslave, my dad used to play it a lot in the car when i was younger
