#A Clockwork Orange but Kid-friendly

Why sanitize it? I think it could have gone farther into R territory

If I was to make it a PG film, I think if you got rid of much of the violence in the film and replaced it with another crime, it would fit what you’re asking but it would lose it potency and the overall message of the film would be weaker and less memorable

I think the only way to make it work in a “kid-friendly” way would be to make it a parody with writing a la the Lego games, where it keeps the spirit but does some sort of absurd replacement of the violence with a goofy prop or something

Like how the velociraptors in Lego Jurassic Park ||are chasing after sausage links on people and not actually looking to eat the people.||

#

That way the overall message of learning to be nice to people could ring true but with a much more tame lens

Oh gosh
That would be tough but I’d imagine a bunch of fourth graders pulling pranks on classmates and becoming school bully legends.

Still think it would lose much of its iconic charm though

My mom hated that movie when it first came out. She didn’t see the X rated cut… but the modern versions you can get on Amazon, they have the cuts added back in and simply bear an “R.”

Yeah I looked this up because I didn’t know if the X rated version was simply released unrated as is common for movies like this.

Which I assume is the newer R version

I would also think a child-friendly Fight Club would look similar.

It’s just a story about a troubled kid with a bully imaginary friend
Poor kid can’t catch a break
