You don't understand, this is the Alien franchise. That means every single stupid thing that someone does for no reason without ever thinking about it for a second is actually because of human hubris. This show that appears to be a cavalcade of stupid people doing stupid things is actually really deep because its actually a really thorough introspection into the arrogance of humanity, and that is why 9 out of every 10 scenes are very heavy handedly trying to show that but failing.

Its also deep because its like about childhood and like how children have parents and siblings that they love, but also sometimes kids are mentally ill or scared. They do a really good job of incorporating these themes into the show by having the children act randomly and bizarrely because they need the story to go forward but then never bringing those things up again or paying them off at all or even explaining them.

Also I don't think the writers actually understand the Xenomorph life cycle because they show a like 3 second long static shot of Arthur's facehugger being dead after we know the facehugger has laid the embryo in Arthur, but then like 2 scenes later, the same facehugger apparently manages to trek across the jungle and get into a tree to then fall from the tree onto the head of soldier guy #3

All of the episodes actually directed by Noah Hawley are pretty good, but nearly all of the episodes directed by Dana Gonzales are anywhere between boring and stupid, and there is a single episode left and almost nothing has been explained or tied off yet, and the final episode is directed by Dana Gonzales lol

Something that Hawley is not doing it

In Romulus, Fede Alvarez confirmed how the creatures had the biomechanical skin: is the wall cocoon that absorbs the environments and energy transfer to the creature

What also is truly lacking is the claustrophobic cosmic horror and anxiety tension of the movies doesn’t really feel like a Alien project

I really would absolutely love and appreciate seeing more on the xenomorphs extended their lore, like Aliens Labyrinth seeing the hellish psychological horror of the Xeno hive and the original comics showing how the Queen influenced the weakest person to create a sadistic cult

I've just seen episode 6 and 7.
Lots of things happened, but it was this one scene that I could not shake out of my mind so much so that it was UNBELIEVABLE.

Seeing someone petting the Alien is just unfathomable to me.

Today I talked to someone working in one of the FX studio of Hollywood.

I asked him about the Xenomorph quality on Alien Earth. He replied that for some reason they didn't get the right to use the old costume from the old movies.

Therefore they had to rebuild the Alien from scratch. That's an explanation as to why everybody can noticed that the Xenomorph looks a bit different this time.

The main character solos the first xenomorph with a papercutter that would be used in an elementary school. They can be zapped and captured with ease. A chestburster can somehow be tracked and etted with zero effort.

What at this point in the timeline should be a cosmic horror of unknowable terror and destruction is more like a bobcat on steroids

Also apparently Wendy is ultra-strong and can jump off cliffs without a scratch, but the other hybrids can't even carry a skinny human without help, and still struggle when theres two of them <.<

Noah Hawley is a very good writer with stuff like Fargo but when it comes to things like being consistent with scifi world building, he is very lacking

episodes 1 and 5 were the only ones that felt like an alien based show, the rest were almost exclusively dogshit

and they just completely butchered the xenomorphs now

Earth is 0.5/5 good world building scope, visuals and production design but a total waste of that due to his terrible special effects on the Xenomorph, lackluster unlikable characters, awful creative direction from Hawley and one of the worst changes in the Alien franchise
