We are back
I do believe that was the initial plan
Just firing up season 2, but man, r/television at the least seems to have it out for the show.
Are people that didn't like seaosn 3 saying they like this season now?
The adage right now is itâs a step up over season 3
quite a small step
With a lot of debate over whether season 3 was just disappointing or flat out terrible, whichâŠ..no, itâs was by no means terrible
they put much melodrama in these seasons compared to S1 and 2
and they really feel like they're in the way of us seeing how the restaurant's developing under the stress of closing down
yeah i know S4 was supposed to be last year as well
probably wouldve been received better in retrospect if the gap was smaller
less bitterness from the fans who felt like they were withheld something
Is there more Jon Bernthal flashbacks?
||Very first scene||
FUCK YOU. GENUINELY FUCK YOU!!!
I get they wanted to do a season focused on character growth, but I need a little plot momentum to go with that. It's boring when you're back on square one at the end
Too much overly sappy moments, I need some excitement to go with it. This isn't the right balance
I enjoyed this season. Some incredible episodes with fantastic performances
Nice seeing Rob Reiner still doing his thing. Seems a little business oriented this season but I'm happy seeing my fav restaurant again.
Finished Season 4 of The Bear and much better than season 3. The addition of past characters like ||Jessica and the team plus Luca was great||. We also see Carmy ||reconcile with his mom and maybe with Claire?? ||. I was surprised at the end when ||Carmy decided to retire and gave the restaurent to Syd, Nat and Ritchie but I guess he's had enough||. The performances were great all around. Episode 7 which is over a hour long was amazing.
I think we would need at least one season to finish the show as ||the Restaurent still needs saving and I think Carmy would do that before giving it to Syd and others||
its worrisome we havent got a season renewal announcement
id take maybe a finale movie from them but i dont think the show is that big
It's still early but I will be so bummed if the bear won't be renewed.. make season 5 the final season. I don't think we will get a movie though.
It's interesting because I think the show left a few too many loose ends but I don't know if it's enough to fill an entire season. The craziest thing is if there was a movie or something to cap it off but I doubt they'd do that
No chance for a movie and i think a final season will be made to resolve all things.
s5 is definitely the last
i was thinking maybe, to really cut down on the filler, the show should return to 8 episodes like s1
low chance on that probably, fx would want to make the most of what would be its final season, but its a thought
10 episodes is fine for me esp with the length of the show.
I think the biggest issue is that all the main actors are so famous now that it's tricky to get them all together for the last season which is probably why it hasn't been greenlit yet
I donât really think itâs a show that has filler
Itâs become arthouse arthouse over its four seasons
But itâs definitely not a plot show now
The vibes and smalltalk are the show now lol
surely that'll be the send off, no?
It doesn't seem like a show that should be made to go and go and go
I feel if it was the last they wouldve announced it as the fifth and final season
So maybe 6
Story feels very over
S4 is about them healing
S5 has to be them getting the star
I agree but usually they include it in these releases if itâs the final season
Succession announced it slightly later iirc?
They did
But id argue that is a rare exception
Thatâs very much Jesseâs show
Glad the show was renewed, it didn't say final season though so maybe we will get more??
Also, it says next season is coming in 2026. Love the fact that The Bear is one of those shows that comes out each year.
I just want to say upon reflection Brie Larson was hysterical as Francie Fak in her single appearance
They def handled her incorporation better than they did with John Cena last season. I didn't hate him in the show but it did feel he just rolled in and was all over everyone's shit as if he'd been there from the get go. Francie was alluded to leading up to her appearance whereas (I don't think anyway) Sammy Fak was brought up till that episode
This season also does feel like they blurred the comedy/drama lines even further so I'm expecting another annoying round of people pretending to care about supposed Emmy "category fraud" lol
I agree with this take once season 3 was over I wasnât particularly underwhelmed cuz I know a lot of the points it was making would be resolved in season 4 and I was mostly right
Season 3 still had its issues but I think season 4 though it hasnât topped the first 2 seasons managed to put the show on a good course and hopefully they finish with a Slam dunk in season 5
I think the backlash to season 3 wouldn't have been so substantial had they did the back to back thing that was initially planned and clearly intended to do
cause it did seem like alot of the negative reception was stemming from impatience tbh
"oh Carmy isn't growing, we're just dicking around" but like, we're clearly going to see him grow
if you wanna use cooking terminology, the season 2 finale was a massive boil over on the pot, season 3 was the reduction to simmer. Now it feels we're up to medium heat
The show is brilliant with its use of celebrity cameos but that was the first time where it really felt on the nose
For me there wasn't a lot of standout episodes in season 3. I love the 1st, 10th and the one with Tina but that's pretty much it
Itâs not a comedy and itâs taking awards from shows that are
Let it fight in drama where it belongs
sorry to seem flippant, I just don't really care about who wins or doesn't win an award. People either agree with the win or don't agree with it regardless, the award doesn't dictate the quality of a show to me. Besides, when you have Better Call Saul go home empty handed its entire run I tend to stop really valuing you as an award body lol
Girl thatâs too long a paragraph for âidcâ
I mean, was largely just wanting to parse my indifference so as to not just have my use of that gif seem like i'm being a dick for being a dicks sake
I thought doors was an awesome episode
I think season 3 deserves a lil more credit it does has some really great episodes imo
Yeah given the finale fifth seasons gotta be the last one surely
Probably
They didn't say it was the final season though but it might be
Long shot theory: I think Richie and Syd are gonna get together
One things apparent to me, there isnât a romance between Syd and Carm despite what Iâve been seeing social media claim
Itâs genuinely the most read into thing Iâve ever seen
I believe even the actors were like "guys chill it ain't happening"
Itâs like theyâre conflating their characters having parallels to one another as being romantic chemistry
