I think the overall result of what they've done with marketing is just unfortunate because yeah with some thought it might not really spoil anything about the movie. Feel like someone who watches the film knowing this title might have a better certainty on spoiler or not
but I think the irrititation isn't about the spoiler and more so that they had held this secret * for a long time and it's been a fun mystery to try and wonder and ponder that it was a nice kinda surprise to come across yourself and experience that but they kinda have just ripped that up now, trying to make it public information instead of letting people discover it themselves

Absolutely agree with this. Iād think that if one can have empathy and sympathy for a character like Loki, Wanda, and Bucky one should be able to understand Walkerā¦ the other characters have killed actual innocent peopleā¦ not just an enemy combatant. I also think itās incredibly fascinating how divisive his character was. I had two friends whom I watched this FaTWS series with that just were disgusted from the second the character was shown on screen. What ever magic sauce they put into the MCU version of the character they did a great job at surface level biasing people to dislike him.

I think a portion of it comes from him being the secondary antagonist (not villain) and replacement to captain America.
But also his mannerisms come across as entitlement and ego, but looking deeper heās doing his job that he was tasked with. Itās like shitting on a clerk at a hotel that is doing their job but has a snarky tone and āuglyā look.
His look also was kinda goofy with his hat, so ad hominems on the character appearance also popped up.

Vanessa looks alright, but if weāre judging the Fantastic Four (F4) purely on āattractivenessā aesthetics, itās gonna be rough. The hype around Marvel Rivals showed Reed and Sue looking fantastic ā both characters came across as attractive and was well received.
Right away, I have reservations about Pedro Pascal as Reed. He justā¦ looks like Pedro. It feels like someone dropped Joel from The Last of Us or General Acacius from Gladiator 2 into the role.
If he can bring a distinctly different set of mannerisms and presence to Reed, maybe itāll work and feel immersive. But personally, the casting doesnāt sit right with me. Pedro is overexposed at this point.

Did anyone else think the movie was WAY heavier than usual and even frightening at times? The scene with the young girl getting shot in the woods that repeated like 5xā¦..the domestic violence āOh BOB, the hero now, eh? You always make it worseā¦ā That shit made adults cry in my theater. Then the shadow entity turning everything into shadows was kinda frightening for Marvel. Heavy themes like depression, drug use etc. Did anyone else feel they should have just went all the way and made it an R? The scene where he is found in the room he describes as ābetter then the restā , you can see into the apartment below and itās child bob , and his parents down there. The father hits/lunges at the mother and child Bob tries to protect her telling his father to leave her alone. The father mocks him āoh Bob the hero now, eh?ā and his mother tells him to stay out of it and āyou always make things worseā. It was a heavy scene for a PG13 marvel movie in the name vein as avengers.

Besides the reasons mentioned by Amdrew, I think the fact that a lot of people also didn't like Captain America brave new world was a reason, they simply didn't want to see another marvel movie in theatres esp one with characters that many know nothing about.

Unlike first 3 phases, MCU movies right now are a hit and a miss and hence for many these movies simply aren't must see. Hopefully Fantastic four changes that and it does look interesting too.

filmento is aight, at least he will make a claim and try to back it up with supporting evidence, unlike drinker and party. Tho I do disagree with his take on this movie. Heās putting way too much emphasis that half the film being in the bunker as an issue that impacted the box office. I didnāt think the movie would be in the bunker half the time but it wasnāt an issue for me, Iām not sure about others tho.
