Finished the show
What a show, man
Andor is absolutely my favorite tv show of all time
Season 2 gets a 9.6/10
would be a 10 just going off the second half, but the first half wasn’t quite as strong
Can we have a rogue 1 watch party for all andor viewers i really wanna watch it and kinda discuss it with the new light
Rogue one's pace is pretty rushed compared to the series.
You have any particular characters in mind ?
Nah. its impossible to convince anyone that anyone is more interesting than Andor in SW. at this point.
Personally, i'd like to see the Mandalorian Wars done like Andor. Revan. Malak. The Exile. Canderous Ordo.
I have a feeling that they’re going to use James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi movie as a jumping off point for old republic stuff
and it will suck, because Andor exists. quite unfortunately.
??? What 😭
One thing being insanely good doesn’t make everything else bad
That’s not how it works
Something can be “worse than andor” and still be a masterpiece
Of course.
but people want that standard.
and not getting it will result in low ratings.
Thats just how stuff happens yeah
When an IP makes something excellent but then the rest falls short in the eyes of someone, they may naturally feel disappointed
Im not necessarily like that(loved acolyte even tho its obviously inferior to Andor imo) but still
Nothing new
Rogue one works amazingly well right after andor. The frantic pace feels…fitting actually. As each of those rumors are confirmed and time is against them
Literally just cut out the silly tentacle monster and the movie is stellar as an andor finale
I don’t get the hate for the tentacle monster
I like Andor but I'd hesitate calling it a masterpiece, so obviously anything below is by definition, not a masterpiece
Why is it not a masterpiece?
I can still see clear influence from things that we're already familiar with, and it is largely effective because of those. Not to say that this makes it any less good, just that it'd dilute the phrase masterpiece if we choose to use it for everything that is good, instead of everything that is pushing boundaries
masterpiece!
do you think its a masterpiese
honestly i forgot andor dies, and after watching rogue one yesterday the show becomes even more gut renching
people made real sacrifices for the rebelliion
this show made star wars richer than most content so far
that's coming from someone who had perviously thought that would be the animated world. But this adds things to the world of star wars with a unique experience too.
Imagine someone thinks of watching star wars in chronological order and they watch revenge of the sith andor+ rogue one and then the new hope imagine that feeling
Andor, what it sets out to flesh out and how it is executed..is a masterpiece yes.
So..Ive seen people throwing around the idea of starting a new veiwer eith andor, rouge one, and THEN the og
Honestly..i bet that would he pretty baller, have a real hatred for the empire and be in for s left turn with the jedi / force
question, rebels comes after andor right?
chronologically speaking cause, mon was already part of the rebellion in the show
or is it simultaneous
with rogue one
Dont know, didnt watch rebels.
Seen clips, but still hate the art style and the more kiddy tone
Especially after loving andor..I cant go back. I want more like this
wasn't my question but ok
My only suspicion on lucasfilm now is, instead of being inspired by this series, the creatives will constantly attempt at replicating the features in this show, like how they did the the whole filler episode in coruscant in mandalorian season 3. Instead of looking at the way gilroy and his creatives were thinking, they could start copying sequences. the only factor that's keeping my excitement for star wars upcoming development.
someone will have a more mapped out and defined answer if you google
they occur moreso at the same time rather than after one or the other because what comes after andor is rogue one
bit before i think.
between bad batch and andor
if you want kiddy star wars, go watch sw resistance. that shit is insulting.
or the young jedi series
andor s1
rebels s1
andor s2 arc 1
rebels s2
andor s2 arc 2
rebels s3
andor s2 arc 3
rebels s4
andor s2 arc 4
i believe that's the order
It can't be side by side though cause andor only got Mon Mothma in the rebellion for the final 3 episodes. Rogue one could be side by side
That finale went so hard ffs
Goddamn, watching Rogue One after finishing this show hit DIFFERENT
I loved the film already but I love it more now
Same
NOOO BRASSO
yeet
i should do gthat as well once finish s2
I finally finished Andor, now where do I go to read all the takes that are ancient by now?
andor sub reddit i guess?
episode discussion threads( thats if you like to sort stuff by controversial )
There are tons of Andor related podcasts as well
I'm at the Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith, which is always good
I know about that
I should probably check out decoding tv since I listen to both the filmcast and remap radio
Mal and Jo are joined by ‘Andor’ showrunner Tony Gilroy! They dive into everything from the world-building and ideology of ‘Andor’ to the fate of the Maya Pei Brigade, what’s in Syril’s box, and much more!

Here's one
Sheesh didn’t realize we were getting Andor in real life
I can't solve the math...
Apparently the empire is running amuck causing chaos for marginalized civilians of a planet
Its not that. Its just that they say nobody hates star wars like starwars fans. But Gilroy hates star wars a heck of alot and he isnt a fan. so i dont know what to conclude.
Why does Gilroy hate starwars?
not his thing, sci-fi in general, i think.
then why he did starwars 😭?
disney money
Tony Gilroy had never ever watched Star Wars when he was hired to "fix" Rogue One and that's probably the reason why Kathleen Kennedy called him. She only hires Star Wars hater.
Tony Gilroy on "The Moment with Brian Koppelman" podcast on 4/3/2018
Fair, tho that’s from 2018, maybe his mind changed and now he loves starwars and sci-fi ?🤷🏾♂️— ppls view do change over the year ( id argue they should change over the years).
I’d couldn’t imagine being in a position where I hate something but have to work on it.
eh. so i guess if you want something done right, hire a guy who doesent give a shit about your fandom. kinda counterintuitive.
right but didn’t this fellow just create/direct… some of the more well received (from critics and fans alike) movies/tv shows to come out of starwars?
he made a war series and slapped sw on it. i'd like it better if it were about WW2.
But isn’t that what Star Wars lowkey has been about?
|| https://www.newsweek.com/does-star-wars-endorse-political-republican-democrat-498365 ||
Not necessarily just ww2 but Vietnam as well
yah but it had additionnal things, the things i like about sw. Lightsabers, the Force and tense dogfights.
Right and Disney is still doing that, didn’t you see the new tv show they released. It had asaaj ventrAss and cad peak in it
Cad bane
strangely, i like Cad's bit more than Ventress.
i liked Tales of the underworld.
when Luke came back in Mando, i cried i was so happy. That's the post-rotj luke i wanted to see. Sequels did him rotten.
Another day, another dumb Morpho take about Andor
days seem to last longer where you live. been awhile since i said anything, for one.
for two, having a different opinion isnt stupidity, its humanity. 8 billion people, 8 billion takes.
Why is "I dont like Andor because it aint Star Wars to me." such a bad take anyways.
Other than everyone else likes it.
because it is star wars
if it's an official star wars production, it is star wars
The thing I've read post-Andor about Andor that I like the most is what Gilroy said about playing with the toys in the toybox and leaving with more toys in it than there were when he started to play
and Andor really does that. When Andor ends there are literally dozens of new story threads and ideas and other things that could be spun off into making Star Wars a bigger and cooler place
meanwhile something like Kenobi or Ahsoka only seem to shrink the size of the toybox
Like at the end of Andor I really liked that there were things were I went "I wonder what happened to x". Meanwhile watching Kenobi it's all "okay so apparenly y is what happened to z and it sucks that I no longer get to wonder" :P
Denise Gough(Dedra Meero) was the voice of Yennefer in Witcher 3. Who knew
#Eurogamer #Witcher4
To me, it isnt.
Its something closer to maybe World on Fire.
that's why star wars is for everyone
because it's all star wars, even the stuff someone might not like
fair enough. Gott admit its very different from what came before.
in SW. and not just because its good.
8383 likes, 144 comments. “Andor is a great fictional story. I wonder if there are any real world parallels…”
all the good star wars stuff has been different from what came before
Different from other SW stuff I mean.
That's what I meant too
ya it is
hence i am just gonna watch the shows. sorry 7-9 and more upcoming movies i am good
Didn't think so many people watched the show
Same I was under the impression that it was underperforming in terms of views.
Either way it’s good it’s doing well. Hopefully more people watch it and understand what the show is about.
Totally
So I guess action is detrimental to ratings seeing as none of the top 5 is action heavy.
Idk man, Bluey is quite violent
pff
I don't think you can really say that, there are a lot of factors involved.
I guess not, but it remains a tempting conclusion.
The most important thing I believe is the story though, I love action but action without good story isn't gonna be popular much.
it really made tons of new SW fans too apparently and rightfully . its that good
liego duna is and was solid in narcos mexico , rouge1 and now andor. hopefully he gets cast in more big productions
Liego Duna? 😭
OOPS! lol. i meant diego LUNA SMH lmaoo. i AM NOT GOOD At remembering actors names
😭
Morph, your takes are actually dog shit
You’re making the same argument, weeks later
It’s actually annoying.
And yo're still calling names on people who didnt. Be respectful.
I agree with that. Andor has a good story, i mean....creation of the rebel alliance is a good subject.
‘ANDOR’ Season 2 has been nominated for 14 Emmys.

Totally deserved
andor sweep is coming
WHAT
um... i only counted 2... not 14...
bourne movies better.
what the fuck does that have to do with this
spy thrillers.
Wtf
Andor my beloved, I miss you so much
Nothing ever will come close to what you did 🙏🏼🧎
I hope not.
not relate dto andor...
Disney and ABC execs musta forgot to watch this show eh?
lol ye
as much i wanted them to , they werent gonna win the major ones anyways, compared to the tough competition they had
Those movies are spy thrillers with tinge of politics, this is more a political thriller?
which is a wierd, like making action movies outta Star Trek.
No?
Morpho, we get it you don’t like this film because it doesn’t show you flashy lasers and Lightsaber fights move on please your take isn’t good
You made the same argument over and over and over and over and over again and that’s fine but it’s kinda annoying seeing the same argument, be made over and over again
I dont like it because its quite against type, like a Marvel movie without violence.
But hey, you want me to stop, i stop.
