i can now say with a lot more confidence that this thing is making a billion

Minecraft only peaked at a little more than 8k last weekend. Adding to it the stress of cleaning up, I doubt the theaters would've wanted to keep it going after the 45 days release schedules, when the per theater revenue drops below $500.

Mind you, that $500 is more than 50% box office to the theaters, while the $8000 per theater is more around 10%... so $250 vs $800

They do, because they have to have extra staff to clean up ON TIME for the next screening... they care about the AMOUNT of screening...

After the initial 30 days run, it's up to the cinema chain corporates, around 45 days the control becomes part of each individual theater managers to schedule the screenings. Not to mention it'll (likely) hit VOD... the extra staff needed to clean up becomes a financial loss.
We are looking at $20 an hour per staff extra, probably more than 1 extra, so probably more like 20x2x4=$160 extra spent on cleaning up, if the film makes any less than $300 a day not including concessions... the minmax doesn't work.

They'll keep it ON LIBRARY easily till June, with the options of keeping it ON DRIVE till July. After that it's no longer simply on screen scheduling, but special request to screen the film.
Modern theater running is so much on digital data management, it's quite astounding honestly.

ON LIBRARY means the theater can download it any time it wants, and get the codes to play the film right off their theater chain system. ON DRIVE means they can't download it but can still get code. Special Request means the code AND film download comes from the distributor via the chain's systems, taking a few days to process, instead of immediate... modern DCPs won't allow playback unless there's an authorization code.

Mario was ON DRIVE until Sep 7th, which was astoundingly long, just so they didn't have to do special request for Family Favorites screenings in the summer.
I don't see Minecraft to be ON DRIVE that long.

Family Favorites, and other things such as Canada's great family days and free movie days, are usually in the SPECIAL REQUEST systems... Universal was smart enough to keep it super extended release, meaning that you can request the codes anytime. WB kept Barbie for 6 months, and Universal kept Oppenheimer for 8 months, and those are EXTRAORDINARILY long. Dune Part 2 (another WB film, and a more normal example) was only there for 10 WEEKS.

I see Minecraft to be more on the Dune side than Barbie side. So probably 4 months, or 5 at the most just to cover summer. But I doubt as many theaters would've scheduled it past 45 days.... 60 days at a stretch with 1 screening per theater every couple of days. WB is stupid with their release cut-offs.

The majority of the 2 points I take off of the fipm are for some greenscreen stuff,.some dialogue, Dawn being underdeveloped, Henry performance being iffy

However I really think its directed strongly and crafted with heart, executed its vision well(if not perfectly), has a good style to it(in the humour and camera movements), well done and very fun action sequences, lots of good comedic bits

Also a strong soundtrack and score Id say
