It's the posion guy
Because who'd else it'd be?
The mom?
Holy fuck whenever they talk my man
Yeah itâs the poison guy đ€Ł
Thank Christ Yord is dead
Couldnât stand that fucker seriously
God this dialogue is so bloody awful
So can someone please explain two things
Why the fuck didnât they arrest the Sith
And if Mae wants to turn Osha against the Jedi, why not TELL HER what they did instead of speaking vaguely (well I know why because the writers only want to reveal that later but it makes no sense from a character motivation standpoint)
Honestly I liked this more than Ep 4 for suuure
Ep 4 had the badbadbad "im gonna turn myself in" moment that made no sense for Mae
Oh itâs definitely better but thereâs still a lot of shit that makes absolutely no sense
Like why Sol wouldnât arrest Qimir
Too bad itâs edited a bit too shite
People on Twitter are saying itâs one of the best things SW has ever done
Fucking clowns
Wait so how is this dude more powerful than these prime force users without being older?
But then you have the dialogue scene with Mae and Osha and holy shit is it terrible
Itâs definitely the best episode so far
Which isnât saying much except when characters talk then it goes down the shutter
Wait
Why did Yordâs sudden attack
Not cause Sol to react
Youâd think they would tag team

Iâm honestly shocked this one dude can do more harm than Sidious
The fights were sick you gotta admit that
Yeah
Exactly it makes absolutely no sense
Them not taking him in
Well I can actually tell you why
Also why tase that master
Because the show would be over lol
If the goal is to turn yourself in

wtf is this
I still donât feel sympathy for this mess of a girl
I donât care about any of the characters
Because they wonât sense her
i still hate that part lol
like i felt like Mae was consistently written up until that exact point
Sole reason i'm still watching.
BRUH
THE FARRET ALIEN IS WHO WOULD FIND OUT
BS

28:04
Same note progression of Kyloâs theme
Also f force heal
wtf
Is force heal a thing

Or did they just introduce it
Since Episode 9
Then Mando had it
Technically mando season 1 featured it first as to not look too bizarre when itâs implemented in Episode 9
is wookiepedia trustworthy
Technically
Although they are updating as soon as these episodes air
Which was the last debacle with this and Ki Adiâs birth discrepancy
Splinter of the Mindâs Eye was the novel sequel of Star Wars 77â immediately contradicted with Empire Strikes Back.
I never bother clone wars 3D
I also think Mortis wasnât really a real place
Itâs like another realm of existence?
Itâs the planet with the daughter, son and father
Yeah its another realm
So technically it was never a thing up to Mando
Because if it was the plot holes would be without scrutiny in almost every major character death that isnât limb or body dismemberment.
I remember first seeing it in RoS and thatâs it lol
A lot of people actually. I believe the power is featured in The Old Republic MMO but thatâs for gameplay sake.
Also Mae is one of the worst written characters in TV
Out of fucking nowhere
She once again changes her mind
And instead of turning herself in
Tries fighting Jecki to the death
Made it worse for herself too, since sheâs weaken Jecki to just die later in the episode.
Im genuinely annoyed that the writing for Mae in particular is shaky
I want to love her so much, because badass cute sith girlie, but the writers flubbed her so bad in these later episodes
Ok now that there is a sole survivor (foreshadowing name) will he be alive to be in the temple?
The writers are completely incompetent
I wouldnât be surprised if they revealed third graders wrote this garbage
The interaction between Osha and Mae
My god
Oh well at least Ahsoka had a good badass mercenary girlie for me to love lol
The acting abysmal the dialogue no commenta
Its such a shame
I wanted this show to be good so bad bexause like I said, i wanted a really well written sith girlie
but instead we get thiiis
Like literally id have come out happy if Mae was the only good thing about it. Wouldnât have rated it high but still.
But no, they have to make her the most inconsistent character ever
I think they proved Leslie Headland is a nobody and Russian Doll only works because Natasha Lyone is involved
I had to look that name up im so bad lol
I really hope that woman doesnât touch KOTOR
An assistant to the metoo guy getting a show for the whole property of that eraâŠ
To even have cast to say, âthere is no good or bad in Star Warsâ is legitimately grossâŠ
Metoo guy?
Harvey Weinstein
Ah
Wait what okay wow
oh my god i am so surprised by the identity of the sith đ
you know i will say
im surprised by how ballsy this show is with killing main characters
that is one of the few positive things i have to say lol
But why should we care
Like I donât give a fuck about those characters
So thereâs zero emotional weight to it
well that was a total stinker of an episode
AYO MY BOY SOL WAS KICKING ASS
Padawan was going in.
Her and mae got crazy grappling skills fr
Yea she was his personal assistant. She claims for a year but in actuality itâs 4.
In this video, Mike tells Rich Evans to watch The Acolyte. Not because Mike and Rich love a Star Warsâą.... I mean, perhaps somewhere deep down in their cold, dead hearts they still do? But Mike asks Rich to watch The Acolyte because Mike knows Rich is one of the most honest, unbiased people he's ever met. Rich will tell it like it is. Heâll neve...
It begins
This thumbnail looks like that clickbaity genre but i could be wrong, idk the channel lol
Oh it is
Thatâs the point
They were done with Star Wars since 2019
And yet they keep coming back to review some of the shows.
one weird lore thing i appreciate, is that the villain is reigniting his saber over and over, which has long been a "why dont they do this in fights" thing that has canonically been waved away as a dishonorable form of lightsaber combat
At least the combat is trying new things.
this is the fun thing about stories outside the existing 1-9 saga is its mostly an empty canvas, and theres no real continuity to worry about
like personally, the movie/show im most curious about and want to see is the james mangold "first jedi" one cause it seems like the place where you would have the most possible creative license
give me more scenes like that moment in rise of skywalker when palpatine was personally nuking the whole fleet
The new episode was the best one yet mainly due to the fight scenes which was really good. That Sith guy is super powerful and lots of deaths too, too bad I didn't care for much of those deaths as characters like Jecki weren't fleshed out well. Also, Qimir said to Sol.. you don't remember me?? So was Qimir in that planet with the witches as well?? Also, glad Qimir didn't die by those creatures, would have been lame way to die.
Motivation of Mae is all over the place, first she wants to kill the 4 jedis, then she wants to surrender to the Jedis because Osha is alive.. now she's pretending to be Osha and also left her behind to do what exactly??
I assume to see for herself what the Jedi were accomplishing in having an established order?
It would also be to kill Sol
Although idk how he canât sense Osha and Mae are different..
And Mae has a tattoo on her forehead that Osha doesn't
Nice catch
I totally forgot about that witch tattoo
I cant believe they paid someone to write this.
They should have paid someone else to read it.
I finally saw John Campeaâs rant on canon and Ki, itâs as superficial of an argument as heâs making.
canon discussion is nonsense but writing is bad in general
They should add more fight scenes to cover it up like in this episode
I thought I recognized this sith dude from somewhere, so it's fucking me up to realize it's jason from the good place
HAHAHAHSHSHSGSHSHAHAHAHA
HAHAHSHSHSHSGAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
86% my fucking ass
This is dog shit
Incredible
In fucking credible
HAHAHAHAHS
LMFAOOO
AINT NO WAY
Legends stuff is Canon now which is cool.. I liked those blocking
I THOUGHT âthereâs no way this show is that dumb to make the poison guy himâ
Lo and fucking behold
Some explain to me how this is 85% worthy writing
You knew about cortosis?
NO SHIT
IIT WAS RHE MOST OBVIOUS SHIT
At first I thought man itâs gotta be a red hairing
But as it went on
I never knew about that and I think vast majority of people who watched the show as well. Not many people have read legends stuff.
How?
How
Itâs the most odvious shit
What do you mean how??
The way he acts when she talks about the mansion
Mission
âI- I mean the masterâ
I'm talking about cortosis.
Let along the rest of the series
The poison guy?
What?? Cortosis is the metal ore that the Sith qimir used to block lightsaber attacks
brother what
Oh my bad
the potion guy is qimir
I dont care about the names
cortosis is a metal that makes lightsabers malfunction
??? no one is saying it will
Seriously I was confused and ya.. it was pretty clear who that sith was
Ik Iâm just saying
you are arguing with ghosts rn
I'm not saying it is
Sorry my a bad I misunderstood
Just that it is interesting they made cortosis canon
i think its cool that they made it canon
This was my favorite episode only due to the fights which was fantastic.. the deaths I didn't care for and again I don't know who wrote the stuff with Mae and her motivations.
The Yord guy?
Everyone was screaming about the representation in this show, and your strong black male dies getting his neck snapped
That and Jeckie.. didn't care for them
Lucas did more with Mace Windu then did show did with any of these characters
Ya
I donât wanna hear that defense ever again ever
Mace windu had more character then any of these people on the show
Goofy as fuck
the only time this show is good is when no one is speaking
These are exactly my thoughts on this episode
I liked this week's episode.
The fight scenes were great but again the motivation of one of the main characters is just so baffling to me
Then again, i'm a fight choreo nut, so this was right up my alley. Qimir was a friggin beast. A Sith Lord that wasnt an old man or a cyborg or an angsty child.
Same and I think there's a chance he will just quit watching the show
He was great actually.. and using cortis which blocked light sabers, he killed so many Jedis
My question is Does he also have a master and if he does.. how much more powerful that main master could be ??
The Villain of The Acolyte has been unmasked. And let me tell you....you DEFINATELY guessed it. 100%.....We're talking if you thought "That's too obvious", well, that was it.
#TheAcolyte #StarWars
I feel like there's zero sense of mystery now that we know who the Sith is
Ah.. He isn't and we also saw that in this episode.
and we know the Jedi fucked up big time - it makes NO SENSE that Mae didn't tell Osha what Sol did
Lots of things don't make sense in this show like why wasn't Qimir arrested??
Oh that's also a glaring question I had
I get why they didn't kill him but there's no reason re why they didn't arrest him
I mean there is - because the show would be over
I mean he was down and could have been restrained but No.. you take a risk with flying creatures
Which once again boils down to extremely lazy writing
Ya
in some aspects perhaps, but having the sith guy ||acting weak, hiding in plain sight and fooling the Jedi during interrogation, resorting to pantomime,|| that was clever, imo.
I mean even i thought he was ||just a guy|| for awhile.
and now, ||Mae and Osha have switched places. Nice.||
how can they not tell them apart with tattoos and everything
Writing
I hope at least the sith guy is not ||fooled||,
jedis are obviously written as miserable fools in this show
Not just in this show.
"I know about the clone command chips but i'll keep quiet and so should you." -Yoda, Clone wars.
Remember it's a show about the sith
So the villain is not revealed rather the protagonist is, in all probability
Perhaps, we will come across his master now
Darth Fucking Plagueis perhaps
What are you talking about bruh?
The protagonist wasnât a secretâŠ.
Morpho
That was predictable asf
Everyone called it
It was known for a while that this show would be from the sith prospective
It was so much of a red hating I thought they wouldnât do it
But no
It was one of the worst decisions these brain dead writers made.
I think after four episode of Jedi
They'd focus on the sith for know
Your missing context
I don't think so
Yoda knows at that time something like that coming out would be a PR nightmare
I don't think we're on the same page
Yoda didn't know about the sith
As we explore in the Prequels and Clone wars
The whole point of that scene is to show that the Jedi are caught up in the political gears of the senate and canât compromise there positions of authority.
And about the sith, I think Mae would do something
I was replying to to Morpho
Oh , I misread the situation
But I believe Yoda didn't know
A guy like yoda won't let it slip
At least he would have investigated privately
In an episode of the clone wars it was discovered that the identity of the guy who made the clones was Conor Dooku
Yeah that came as a shock to me
The chip conspiracy never got out, as Fives was killed before he could expose the secret
Yoda found out in the final days of the war
when Qui Gonn guided him
he knew it was too late
Oh yeahhh
darth yoda
The Creator has teased that he is in search an acolyte to overthrow his master
I donât care tbh
Darth I dont care
Iâll say this
if it's Plagueis it's worth caring I think
The action I didnât mind
I donât the writing is ass
You can throw what ever character you want
Doesnât make it good
I think it's mid tbh
I don't necessarily hate it
But if the quality doesn't get better I don't think I will rewatch it
This is below mid now tbh
mid is unacceptable for a million dollar project
Everything is a million dollar project
It's not about money
"Budget $180 million"
for 180 million I will only accept excellence
So they always have to work around
It was produced during COVID that boosted the budget
Star wars Fandom is the worst
And the MCU fandom is headed that way too
Ight true but this show does have a lot of problems
After he showed up, full regalia, not before. Not first episode.
I DID
DF
MY FRIEND DID
^^^^^ @tawny zenith
^^^ @tawny zenith
OUTTA HERE
WITH THAT
"No one knew"
Bruh it was clear as glass
Any of these posts from when the first episode came out? If so, congrats. Moving on.
It was kinda clear after the previous but it wasnt that obvious before that
Sorry two episodes ago
HELL EVEN JEREMANY CALLED IT
I thought he was a red hairing at first
But after seeing the writting of three I thought, maybe these writters actually suck that much
If I called your twist 2 epsidoes before it comes that not a flex
You've failed
Don't even
And you wanna know why people didn't suspecT?
Because in any other contex this guy would be a red hairing
No written with a functioning brain cell would make it him
None
0
The show would have been better without any twists
(like when the viewers know but the characters dont)
^^^^^
Like at that point don't insult our intelegence
Just have it so she knows and doesn't look like a fucking idiot.
Right. And Kenshin Himura isnt the Hitokiri Battousai and Vash isnt the Stampede.
Cuz they dont look it. Pff.
What are you on about?
Acting like a goof to hide tremendous strength remains clever in my book.
You're missing the point Morpho
Once again.
darth jar jar
My point is that pretending like his idenity is a massive twist when they make every attempt to make us aware of who he is is not good writting.
IT takes away the suspense and impact of the rivael of his idenity.
We might as well know who he is but it's written like we're not suspose to.
The way it's executed, is poor
Fair enough.
wow, what a massacre
and this should totally have been one episode instead of split in two
Best live action lightsaber fight I ever scene, the Sith reveal was mad predictable.
if only writing was good this will be a decent show
Mae is getting the biggest screwover writing wise imo
We need the john wick or extraction equivalent for this shows stunt coordinator
Ya, I mean...he usually gives a show 2 or 3 episodes before he taps out.. he gave Acolyte 5 episodes as he's a star wars fan.. I'm sure he will complete the show once it is finished but won't talk about it
I rewatched Episode 5 with family
Thereâs a lot of things i like about the show overall but the writing has tanked in the last two eps especially
But thereâs still things I like about it
Mae in particular even though some of her writing is off sheâs still a character im liking
I like Qimir. Warrior capable of acting his way out of a Jedi interrogation.
Heâs every other masked Sith Lord
Weâve scene in the civil war period
And after
ILL SAY THIS Z
Civil war?
The galactic civil war
Or the civil war
Itâs the conflict with Luke
The one with only Palpatine and Vader being Siths.
Yes
Heâs another Sith lord with a mask
Whoâs by himself with maybe a padawan
Online unique thing is the usage of the helmet
Personality strikes me as unique. The other Siths were either politicians or enforcers. He was a smuggler who held a store that sold knick knacks.
Morpho
Listen man
I donât got a problem with you liking the show
alright I got heated again
Iâm sorry man you can like it
I aint mad at you.
And yeah, these characters, under the right writers, would be better off.
But i'll take Qimir over another friggin old man any day.
He acts smart, he fights smart, and he just killed 6 friggin Jedi in one bout.
He a beast.
He aint dumb like Vader, cuz let's face it, Vader was dumb, and he aint ambitious like Palpy.
Dude just wants to use his power however he wants without being obligated to be hunted by the Jedi.
Woah woah woah
Woah
Back it up
If i were a force user, i'd go the way of the Katarn, be Grey. But Disney dont believe in Grey.
What.
Vader ainât dumb
Heâs very much a threat to anyone in his path.
And he killed a hundred kids, with a lightsaber, because a person whom he knew to be the bad guy, told him about Darth Plaguis' healing and ressurecting legend.
Emotional instability results in a tremendous drop in reasoning.
Iâll give you that
Dude can fight, I'll give you that.
But he was far...far too easily manipulated by Palpy. What's more, Palpatine told him he didnt even know how to save his wife, and Anakin followed him anyways.
"To cheat death is a power only one has achieved, but if we work together, I know we can discover the secret."
Not one minute after that quote, Anakin takes part in Operation Knightfall.
He might not be a drooling simpleton, but i wonder about Anakin's intellect.
Even though this show has issues im going for a Mae pfp lol
Idc if people make fun of me for it, i like her as a character and thus
I need more fights. I dont even care lightsabers for real.
Itâs stupid they made it into legends only to bring it back nowâŠ
yeah disney just made everything non-canon so they could then pick and choose what they want to be canon
My bad I was laughing at the twist.
I replyed to the wrong comment.
I'm actually a bit surprised to see cortosis return
Lucas had a long running opposition to the notion of physical materials stopping a lightsaber
Beskar and Cortosis ftw.
Like the dark saber exists cause it was a vibrosaber and he said "fuck that make it a lightsaber"
well lucas ain't in charge no more
What was the thing snokes guards wore? I vaguely remember those being resistant to glancing blows and thus in the last jedi they could only die to being straight up stabbed
Plasteel? Dunno.
Apparently the armore is wreathed in a magnetic field which makes them blaster proof and lightsaber resistant.
Hurts the wearer tho.
Yeah but that was always the reasoning for the whole legends thing was the things that Lucas didn't like or weren't in line with his star wars
Though the years since it sure seems like they've slowly clawed back some of his more notable disagreements with the wider fandom
Namely all the Mando stuff
Though still surprised baby Yoda exists, cause even in the pre disney days when it was a bit lax on rules, that was a big red NO everywhere was examining yodas species
To be fair, this technically can still sort of exist, most of the opposition to grey jedi live with the "jedi" part
but its also well known that lucasfilm thinks the entire notion of a "gray jedi" is a bit cheap and lazy writing
Ahsoka is Grey, imo.
shes a light sider who is not formally a jedi, the grey jedi that always caused issues was like, fan ideas of qui gon or kyle katarn that magically get dark side and light side powers and no real consequences
Oh look, i use lightning to shut down a droid and gripping to save someone from falling, i'm a Sith. Doesent make sense. Intent should determine the affinity of the power, not the power itself.
Luke force gripped the two gammorean guards, he didnt turn.
this is one of those star wars things i tend not to try thinking about too hard
just because I feel like most of the time the more i think about fictional magic systems my brain starts to deteriorate
I think that overall I am liking the show. Unpopular school of thought ik
But i genuinely am despite the issues
Thatâs totally fine
Same. Sorry for the fuss.
I watch star wars for dogfights, shootouts and force-powered duels like i watch Star trek for diplomacy. This show has delivered, imo.
half the cast died lol
They have to. Jedi cant know the Sith are back. đ
Better believe Sol is next.
He's alone with Mae atm.
swap 3 and 4 and thats my ranking
5 >> 1,2,3,4
5 is better but still like a 5/10 for me
It falls apart when characters start talking
It's like, I can see what they were trying to do, but it feels like such a first draft
WE MUST PROTECT KARMA AT ALL COSSTTT
5, 2, 1 Is the best episodes to me
I like it just bad writing but great action scenes
Aside from some fancy fight choreography..abysmal show
If it has fancy fight choreography, it isn't abysmal to me.
Good to know.
5.5/10 for me
Shoulda combined ep 4-5 into one 1.9 hr episode
Gonna rewatch the eps up to the most recent when home
Did you change ur pfp again?
couple days ago
No homo but ill let him choke me lol
This was the most well written episode
Even though Green Bitch is one of the worst actresses Iâve seen on screen no joke
The scenes between Osha and Qimir were pretty well written and interesting even though Amandlaâs line delivery is atrocious
I think she forgot how to act after Hate You Give
Also liked the twist with Sol and heâs finally spilling the fucking beans my god
I loved this episode lol.
Yeah Sol and Osha were definitely the best parts of this episode
Probably the best one of the show thus far i reckon.
Also Oshaâs outfit on the island i love
i like her personally but
Green lady sucks i agree lol
Manny Jacinto is EASILY the best actor
I donât think Solâs casting works I get that he learned English for the role but his line delivery is extremely stilted and off
There are tons of Asian actors who speak fluent unbroken English
Am i allowed to share screenshots in here, or do i need to wait a day or two
Itâs a spoiler channel fair game
Well then!
I really liked these shots in particular.
That was the most interesting storyline
Definitely
he is a fantastic actor, it's really a shame they couldn't write a good show for him to be in
but yeah honestly the last two episodes have actually been... not bad??
it was really just episodes 3 and 4 that sucked
but tbh i'd say more episodes so far have been overall enjoyable than not
im still hovering around a 6/10 for this show, maybe 6.5
its got a lot of things to like, but the dialogue and certain character decisions are just so atrocious
The show is still a 3-4/10 for me
Am i the only one who wanted the critter to die
i think bazil was his name
I was hoping Mae would slice him
No heâs annoying and useless
Yeah Iâm done with this show tbh, not gonna watch the new episode Iâm giving this show a 3.9/10 outta ten. Another Disney misfire
Wasn't a fan of this new episode. I just don't care for the twins. The only interesting stuff is what Sol did and why he feels he needs to answer to the High council??
I would have stopped watching the show but only 2 episodes left now and it is only 30 minutes each, I would like to know how this ends.
acceptable episode
Nobody cares for those useless twins
So apparently a lot of people think Qimir was atrocious Green Ladyâs Padawan
Especially because of the scar it makes sense
And it makes sense the level of nepotism involved for Headland to make her girlfriend or wife or whatever the fuck the ultimate bad guy
Even though Iâm a better actor than she is
corrupt jedi order vs lonely sith
they really been holding onto this truth behind brendok thing for too long like
like
its delay is just getting annoying and clear theyre trying to push it as late as possible
but want to bring it up so much
The thing is
Thereâs no reason Sol wouldnât have told them
Other than the writers canât reveal it
So him holding back feels extremely forced
Why do I get the feeling all people are going to be talking about is this new Reylo-ish "will they/wont they" situation? Anyhow, here are my thoughts on the latest waste of cinemas once greatest I.P.
#StarWars #TheAcolyte
This is very accurate
yeah i saw this episode being describes as "horny" lol
but to be fair
i would absolutely join the sith if he asked me to
??
all im saying is that i have seen people call this episode horny
tf u mean "no"
are you calling me a liar
they would have if the show was good
I love how many opportunities Mae has to kill Sol in this ep yet she never goes through with it
she was totally looking at his second lightsaber, if you know what i mean
i think she wanted the satisfaction of sol realizing it was her
because if you just stab someone in the back and they never even know it was you
thats not satisfying revenge
well that's a stupid plan lmao
but im not totally sure what she was waiting for
yeah im not sure what her plan was tbh
She was waiting for him to blast her ass
I don't think the writers themselves figured out wtf Sol did until they wrote the 7th ep
yeah at this point sol better have commited like the most unforgivable atrocities known to man
otherwise its gonna be underwhelming
like wtf did bro do
and how does mae know
and why didnt she immediately tell osha when they met
he broke the fire alarm by accident
Nah he was caught with Twi lek photos on his holo computerâŠ.
4k
"His strength in the force is very powerful "...someone actually wrote that shit and said...."yep that's the stuff!!"
Doesn't suprise me.
Again, when your writting it's not what you say, but how you say it, AND WHO'S SAYING IT
wdym by "joined forces"?
Mae and Sol? No.
I've been looking for the one thing that makes all 6 of the 45 minute episodes of this series unwatchable. And that is it.
Sarcasm. Doesent take you guys alot to hate.
No no Qimir and the other twin
Too early to tell. They just live together and havent killed each other yet.
They seem to have something in common tho, that being their bad relations in the past with the Jedi. Qimir's a Fallen, not a Sith.
Pretty sure he called himself a Sith to mock the Jedi in the previous episode.
Qimir only had Jedi Masters.
Plus cortosis is official. Nice.
Osha, the other twin, might be easy to turn because both her and Qimir have a bad history with Sol and the Jedi. Time will tell.
you literally said mae though
May bad. There both so forgettable I canât tell there names apart
Lol May bad.
I love our lead twin girlies lol
i've been watching andor
how tf do two shows of such vastly different quality come from the same universe
what possible excuse could disney have for all of their shows not to be as good as andor
just not as action-less or alien-less as endor, please.
something doesn't need action to be good
and yes sure i love action as much as anyone else
but it doesnt make up for bad storytelling
hmm. if it were only possible to blend acolyte's action with andor's story...you'd get peak star wars again.
Indeed
Particularly episode 5
I'm happie for you Krama
I really am
Not gonna remeber these two in a year
If they survive who cares
It they die oh well
yeah, that's what I mean by dull. I don't even remember most of the character's names.
I dont think there is any show or film out there that forces people to remember characters names. You can only remember if you pay attention.

Morpho
There forgettable
I came, I watched, and I didnât see much
YEAAHH
PROTECT KARMA AT ALL COST
<3
im gonna call it now, the shows gonna end on some note of plageuis and/or tenebrous interceding because qimir is lending too much credence to the notion of the sith returning
I just want my dark side romance to prosper
Lol
And you speak for everyone, i get it. Sry.,
Morpho
When did I say I speak for everyone
I came back
I just finished this episode
Also started reading Darth Plagueis and noticed the terrain and its descriptor in the book and what I saw on the show.
I thought it was Ach-Too at first but then it was called an unknown planet so this could be the Bal Demnic.
It would be stupid if Qimir is the first to know of Cortosis, considering Biths and Muuns live longer than the human timespan allows. Even the book introduces Plagueis as an apprentice for as long as a human is alive.
I really donât care at this front because it isnât exactly what I would adhere to but literal Sith looking into this for years makes more sense than a fallen Jedi.
Does seem sometimes that since you hate it, everyone else should. I know cuz I was the same with Andor. So I'll just say it's ok if you hate it more than I do. Please respect that I don't think it's the worst, xmas special is the worst.
Now come on Morpho
You know that ainât true
I might get rowdy, but nothing more.
you know what I liked about the last episode? The little long nosed creatures that were puppets.
The prop department were told to make aliens that look like ducks and anteaters
And they did and they looked great
Ok, ok...
ILL SAY THIS
The make up
The partical effects
Look good
everything but the story and writing, basically?
And the direction
i guess.
And tbh some of the customs and hair styles look mid as hell
gotta give props to the scenery and the combat direction.
Yeah combat is fine
That little rodent dude đ
I wish heâd die already
tell that to the cute smartphone droid
Jesus KaramaâŠ
I thought you loved the little guy
I love a lot about the show but hate him lol
He's adorable and shall NEVER die!
Look at the nose, you KNOW you want to give boops!
Also, ugh him! Manny Jacinto
âYou must not like it because your sexistâ
âYou must like it because your wokeâ
ewoke
I think in fact that is how it works.
"Look how they massacred my EU"
They massacred their EU. Your EU still exists.
dude knows his arms are his best feature đ
or at least the costume department does
dude can also fight.
he actually utilizes the lightsabers greatest advantage over regular swords
which is that it can be activated and deactivated at will
the technique known as Trakata.
how did no one ever think about this?
Plenty did. You just don't see it on screen much.
The Jedi see it as unethical and
The sith sees it as cowardice
New episode in two days!
Am especially excited for this one
my disney+ subscription expires today or tomorrow and i am not renewing it just to watch the acolyte lol
finally caught up with the latest episode and it was not bad, if the actual reveals are good it might make the bad episodes make sense even
It was once considered a pretty heinous technique from both major factions (idk if this is different here). Even though the practice would mentally drain the opponents force instincts.
Also lightsaber whip looking like a noodle was exactly what I expect.
As lightsabers friggin should.
My homies
Who is ready to be severely disappointed when Sol finally reveals what the Jedi did
Great episode.
Kogonada direction tho
Was a very solid episode
Solid backstory given
Good setup for the finale
You're only looking at the negative reactions. Look again.
Sometimes I wonder who here actually watches the show and who just dumps on it on principle.
If anyone.
totally forgot a new episode came out tonight
Well, we finally get to know what happened and it was a ||series of mistakes from first Torbin going to the witches place for a ridiculous reason, Sol by killing Aniseya (although I guess he feared for Mae and Aniseya turning into a black smoke didn't help) and I don't know what Indara did with those witches, like it makes no sense to me that all those witches are dead because??
So, ya jedis weren't acting evil but a series of misunderstandings and mistakes led to this outcome. ||
This is the penultimate episode and it was fine, the fight was quite great as always but the rest, I don't really care.
This hasn't been a good show imo.
Ok so theyâre really are looking for a Vergance
Okay why would mother just randomly turn to dust only to get to startle Sol to then kill her?
You know for a collective of force user people I find it shocking it took a mind clearing force trick to kill all of them.
I guess it was all a bluff.
Also weird of Sol to try using the force for the falling bridge instead of force grabbing the girls.
Whereâs the bacta tank?!
End credits music is also a bit⊠hmm
I thought Torbin did some horrendous shiii, but instead we get the culprit being Sol who started this whole tussle with the coven. Just drop episode 8 tonight, might as well at this point.
Kalki 2898 AD>Acolyte
I think the mother was trying to protect Mae by it looks like teleportation of some kind but Sol took it differently as an attack against him maybe and he killed her.
It makes zero sense that Indara killed all those witches that easily with a mind trick unless they were all only knocked out and the fire and debris killed them, I'm not sure.
So, Torbin still feels guilty about going to the witches place and that led to their deaths after all these years and that's why he didn't resist getting killed by Mae ?? It's not like Torbin willingly committed mass murders and Sol started it.
Ok so I caught up on the Acolyte. Show still sucks. The only thing I enjoyed was the huge lightsaber battle a few episodes ago. The whipsaber was dumb as hell and looked stupid. I don't like how this show is making the Jedi out to be a corrupt organization. I also really hate when an episode is entirely a throwback that doesn't move the main plot forward.
they are all dumb

Two episodes now.
i mean in all fairness, the prequels were literally about how the jedi were incompetent and how that led to their downfall
Hold up give me a fucking break
They didnât explain how the witches were killed?
Meaning Sol couldâve EASILY explained that way earlier because the Jedi werenât evil in the slightest - it was all one big misunderstanding?
Ah.. they kinda did but it was dumb. The main witch mother was killed by Sol, the rest killed by some mind trick done by Indara. Don't exactly know if that killed her or the fire later did.
Ya the jedis didn't go there with intention to murder the witches no
Then Iâd love to ask Headland
Yes and she set the fire by mistake and not on purpose
Why did she make it such a huge mystery
No idea and btw.. you can watch the show. It is only 30 to 35 minutes.
Iâm watching it in a few
They werenât incompetent, they saw a war that was beyond their control and utilized an army to only be easily usurped of its power from the republic. If they were incompetent they wouldnât even be able to be called generals in the clone wars, sure sometimes it would leave many dead clones but some Jedi saw them as expendable. In the case of their religion it was hubris that put them down, it was their ignorance and isolationist mentality that left them vulnerable.
Wait I missed how the stone fortress went ablaze.
Mother Anasaya: those noble intentions will get your institution to become extinct
Also Anasaya: I was going to let OSHA go itâs what she wants.
Okay why would you say such a crappy thing if your child is also going to be a part of it? Why provoke them at that pivotal moment.
NAHHH MANDO
UR JUST A STAR WAYS HAYER
STAR WARS HAS ALWAYS BREN THIS WAY
Exactly.. i was like, she changed her mind quickly.
Not all star wars...certainly not andor.
But pawsin!
Star Wars has always been that way
Itâs fine
Itâs always been this way guys
Donât criticize it
Consume product and wait for next product
Mando listen
Donât criticize
Itâs always been that way silly
I think this is a new series low dialogue wise
So let me get this straight
This happened because Torbin is an impatient little shit who wants to go home? Come on
Do they expect me to feel bad for Mae
My god
Why the fuck did the mom turn into a smoke cloud instead of trying to diffuse the situation
No shit Sol wouldâve perceived that as a threat god these characters are stupid
Youâre right
TLDR
why didnât she explain she was going to transport Mae or whatever (assuming that is what she was doing, she could have been doing something elseâcause it looked like she was about to do some dark magic shit ). Also they donât make a good case for osha mother being sympathetic or the witches.
Osha mother using dark magic on the padwan seemed shady asf it made her look evil so that would only serve to make the Jedi more skeptical. Then there is Osha mother using dark magic to do what ever she was going to do with Mae before she gets iced (itâs not explicitly explained what the mother was going to do).
the show is trying to make this parallel about âshoot first ask questions laterâ which doesnât work here đ. e.g If a cop pulls a person over and they reach into their pocket without explaining what they are doing, they shouldnât be surprised if they get tagged.
This is essentially what happened with Osha mother, shorty turns into dark mist, Mae starts fading⊠from Sol perspective it looks like she may be hurting her. so he stabs her⊠(argument could be made that Sol should have asked her but Sol has to make a quick second decision seeing the mother turn into dark smoke and seeing Mae slowly turn into dark smoke)
The lines she says right after being stabbed are super corny, âI was going to let osha go with youâ đ€ŠđŸââïž why didnât she just say that earlier and avoid this mess.
Exactly she acted upon hostility first then assurance of safety post fatal wound.
I still donât understand why the writers decided upon force manipulation as a type of vergance
Oh Sol had 100% the right to kill her there
Play stupid games win stupid prizes
A vergance is understood to be the force manipulation to interject and bring balance.
Itâs the exact same as someone reaching into their pocket when confronted by a cop
These women did it amongst themselves meaning itâs not controlled by the force. Ergo once they had an answer of the kids creation they should stop because itâs not what their prophecy has led them to believe.
And I still donât understand how the other witches died other than magic tbh đ
Yea. I guess they got tired like Luke Skywalker in TLJ
But in his case I always thought stabbings also went through and affect the user?
Idk all I can say is Kalki 2898 is more consistent
They just took a nap and didnât wake up?
âThey lost the will to liveâ
Make sense in a tragic romance
Not for a cult
This is the space fantasy equivalent of the Roman siege of Massada
The coven had taken their own life before actual confrontation with any of these goobers
Were they knocked out or did they die for sure?
Also whatever happened to that little girl that said, âI SEEE FIAAAAHâ
And come on
But if they did die maybe itâs like that ep in clone wars when mace windu tries to mind read Cad bane, but isnât successful because it would destroy his mind.
Mae did start that fucking fire intentionally
She just didnât expect the damage it caused
Season 2, ep 3
Also
Torbinâs suicide makes ZERO sense
Bro didnât kill anyone
Heâs just an impatient little shit
Worse than AniâŠ
Remember guys
Star Wars dialogue has always been corny
There has never been any good lines or dialogue
Never
Never at all
Never
There have never been any well written scenes

Mae and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) are the best force dyads in this galaxy.
MAN, guys this show is so shit, how would they have so many black people on one show
Guys come on this show is woke as hell
Jesus donât you know? There trying to indoctrinate you
god i hate critical drinker
i used to watch his videos
until i realized he literally just thinks that anything that has a woman or a minority is pushing some agenda
Andrew because it is!
Look
oh shit sorry
Theyâre is slightly dark skinned person
i forgot that only white men exist irl
no no youre right, the original trilogy didnt have any women or black people!!!
That means that the show is trying to push a narrative
not like two of the most fan favorite characters from the ot are a woman and a black man or anything
And I mean, a bunch of woman having a baby? Weâve never seen stuff like that in fantasy!
Never
Itâs a weird leftist agenda and itâs making me sick
a weird witch cult?? clearly theyre trying to make the viewers gay
also whats up with people saying that r2d2 is a lesbian
what does that mean
I think Drinker is not much of a film guy as much as he is a narrative driven critic because my god the man misses a whole bunch when something is highly flawed. Or when a film is great he also misses much of the elements to claim itâs all about âTHE MESSAGEâ
(MODS WE ARE BEING SARCASTIC DONT BAN US, WERE MAKIMG FUN OF THEM)
It was a joke in an interview that blew out of proportion
one of my breaking points for him was when he complained that the two main characters of shang chi had zero romantic chemistry when it literally states several times throughout the movie that they arent a couple
Saying they already have the first lesbian droid with R2 this is the lead actress Amandlaâs joke.
like how did he miss that
made me completely lose faith in his ability to actually consume media competently
Like his buddy Mauler I can get listening to but he also misses a lot when it comes to criticism of a story both in its editing composition and score.
Tbh i donât think mauler is that bad
Like the Kingdom of Heaven watch together was painful, they kept saying to themselves why the Queen would kill her son and give up the kingdom when there is all this context in the directorâs cut that not only theyâre watching but they are also scrutinizing live without letting it breathe to tell its tale.
If you take the time to watch his videos, he goes into detail about why he feels the way he feels
IN GREAT DETAIL
He isnât but he misses as much with some of his Star Wars prequels criticisms
True
i agree with a lot of critical drinkers general ideas of what makes good/bad writing, but hes so convinced that everything is pushing some agenda that he becomes impossible to take seriously
Watch that episode 1 prequel debate at their EFAP podcast. He was criticizing how thereâs no shot to show the Naboo ship going into hyperdrive to Tatooine which makes the space between them seem ambiguous. This same sequence he criticized was also shown with the Death Star to Yavin 4, we never see the Death Star move to ludicrous speeds and yet it jumps from Alderaan to Yavin 4 so easilyâŠ
The same edit and approach and yet thatâs perfectly fine?
its basic fucking film knowledge that you dont need to show every trip between every place
the audience isnt stupid
Dear lord his drinker bar podcast is very repetitive itâs the same four questions every episode:
- What will happen to Disney after |insert film here| bombs?!
- Box office
- Star Wars failing, what to do about it?!
- Marvel failing what to do about it?!
Then occasionally you get a Chris Gore shit take.
heres the thing
as long as disney has one successful movie every few years, they can keep putting out shitters forever
inside out 2 alone just paid for like every flop in phase 5
and deadpool 3 is absolutely gonna make a billion
Yea their speculation is quite a waste of time, especially when one of their Brits dude said, âAvatar breaking even at 2 billion should not be a surpriseâ I was baffled at how idiotic of a take I was listening to. Who wouldâve thought there was that much hype for that series after 10 years!
The moment that guy made the claim that Avatar 2âs record breaking sales wasnât that big of a deal was the moment I figured these people have little clue what theyâre talking about.
Almost like anyone else can be a YouTube and spew better BS takes than thatâŠ
its so easy to be a film "critic" on youtube
It's a joke đ
Haven't seen the new episode but the reactions, damn!
But.. but⊠the critical drinker is a real critic, he writes books so he must know what heâs talking about when heâs reviews movies writing = good, writing = bad, and heâd NEVER push agenda to his audience like Disney would he?, and⊠and⊠he has over a million subscribers
I'm convinced Disney knows what they are doing with the PR firestorm around this. Put Kathleen Kennedy or Leslie Headland in an interview to say something inflammatory to a large part of the core Star Wars fan base > wait for insane reactionary takes from various YouTube critics and bloggers > wait a couple of weeks then say something else carefully crafted to cause outrage in that same crowd > repeat. They know Star Wars peeps are going to watch the show anyways mostly, and they know the outrage around the show will put more eyes on it and increase viewership more. Classic case of no such thing as bad PR. They started the outrage cycle before the show even began.
The real reason the new show is so female focused casting and story wise has nothing to do with "wokeness" or whatever people are screeching about anyways. Streaming made the female demographic WAY more important to capture than it had been before from a purely business stand point. They want that money from stay at home moms and such that have a screen on in the background 24/7. Cinema goers lean towards being 60-65 percent male for any mainstream film. While streaming is almost the inverse with around 65 percent of viewers being Women with some anecdotal evidence suggesting men are more likely to watch YouTube or similar content, which makes sense when you consider the traditionally "manly" hobbies like car enthusiast content is there. So as usual the real reason things are changing in streaming is the same one as usual:
Anytime something in business or anything else doesn't make sense on the surface, follow that $ and quickly the pieces of the puzzle fall into place
I wonder how much they gain from this 180 million dollar budget.
Because Greyâs Anatomy, Law and Order, and ER shows are where I assume that demographic are mostly present. Trying to get a Star Wars crowd from this wonât be as good of an idea due to those shows having all the content under the sun to keep their audiences entertained, plus no baggage with continuity which here it kinda doesnât but also youâre reminded of the 50 different shows that add to a larger storyâŠ.
What is the budget per episode
20 million
ok, so, question - Osha knew Mae started the fire. How did Sol know?
He used her as a scapegoat to save the hides of the jedi basically
âyour sister caused a catastrophe and we saved youâ
because osha then lived at the jedi temple with sol for like a decade?
oh do you mean like
in a flashback
i havent seen the new episode
I assume itâs both of them using their povs clearing up the mysteries of that event. I wonder what the last 30 mins will containâŠ
What i dont like as much is this series makes Anakin's creation not so special anymore.
since the twins were ||created immaculately as well||
Least we got the Kelnacca fight scene we wanted.
I will for the finale before making my mind
I feel there's more
There's supposed to be a season 2 too
seems hard to conclude all the threads in just one episode so a season 2 is probably good
I wonder too
Because like how do you measure returns on that?
If people unsubscribe within a certain time period does that mean a project flopped?
It's mainly reception
If something can make people comeback, it's a win
But in reality no streaming service is making any profit
and internal metrics that the plebs don't have access to
yeah the actual way theyre gonna make money is by getting people hooked and then slowly raising prices over time
streaming services are already starting to push $20 a month
when not long ago they were all in the $10-$12 a month range
I do find myself really liking the nonlinear storytelling of this show. Its very interesting to rewatch older eps with a new perspective, particularly certain dialogues really stand out more.
yes, everyone standing around solely shouting everyone's names and nothing else is riveting. đ€Ł
I think it does more damage than favor because episodes are limited and every second counts.
Because of this less content can be explored and the unresolved conflicts will be pushed to season 2
which won't come until 2-3 years
assuming Disney doesn't cancel it
its an expensive show and if they don't get a return on it there's no point in making more
Please god I hope this gets canceled
Iâm tired of this era tbh
Wasted potential. Not like this era was as interesting to begin with. Vernestra Row just rubs off the same OC vibe as Ashoka, all about their amazing feats and being a rebel of a religious orderâŠ
I want to see that lightsaber whip in combat
Wait
She actually uses it rights
Right?
Only in that gif so far
and this is going to blow up in their faces when people realize used 10TB+ HDDs are less than $80 now. Streamings value proposition and convenience was always the draw of it, especially back when basic Netflix was something like $10 a month and had every popular TV show ever. Now you need 6 different $20 subscriptions to get the same content and on some of those services you still gett ads. Not to mention the apps are all terrible (the one thing Netflix's website and app never had was bad UI design). Streamers aren't helping themsevles with the way they rotate content in and out and just flat out don't make content available in some cases (like Universal removing the Universal Classic Monsters from streaming any time except Halloween, despite owning the IPs and films outright). When streaming took over people thought the future was every TV show ever on Netflix for $30 a month. Instead its cable all over again but more expensive.
Worse yet: None of the major streaming platforms except Netflix are profitable, so prices are going to keep going up and content is going to be reduced in either quantity or quality furthering a viscious cycle. Its bad enough that at least one streamer (paramount) is trying to go back to licensing their content out and cancelled a bunch of super popular series. Part of the problem is SAG union contracts pushing the long term cost of series up and up and up. Mandatory residuals, mandatory pay increases each season (thats the real reason your favorite shows dont go 7 seasons anymore), etc. Making content in 2024 is EXPENSIVE, Web bandwidth is EXPENSIVE. Marketing is EXPENSIVE. And due to current economic realities the VC funding that these companies were relying on to float by while unprofitable for years has disappeared. So now everyone is rushing to try to be profitable under the streaming model and in many cases they are just destroying themselves.
My hot take is people are going to have to get used to paying for their content piece by piece again (IE: buying each season of a TV show, actually going to the movie, renting them, etc) or the media industry is going to had to drastically change to exist in the post-streaming world.
IE: TV shows will have lower budgets, run shorter seasons, less seasons, use less well known names and faces, etc. High budget cinema will fade-away and we will see a shift towards making mid budget films.
tldr, but thanks
This article answers a bunch of questions I had
damn that interview has some very nice bits
puts stuff into contexts I hadn't even thought about
It's the second most successful star wars show
In terms of viewership
If itâs not on the show, itâs equivalent to Leslie pulling facts out of her ass đ
I truly hope she sticks to smaller stuff
Unless sheâs a talentless hack and Russian Dollâs first season is great bc of Natasha
all the things she's saying is in the show though, it just depends on how you look at it
Itâs legitimately one of the worst shows Iâve seen in the past decade so Iâll skip her thoughts because theyâre irrelevant
well okay
If a director has to explain there work for me to grasp it at a base level, that's a problem
All of this should habe been illistrated in the show, if you can't do that then you've failed your job as a director by definiaiton.
did you read it though? it's not explanatory in that way
It kinda is dude
not really, it's just explaining a process of how one got to certain decisions and one can argue it doesn't do an excellent job at conveying it all but it's not not there
like it goes from "this is baffling and makes no sense" to "I can see what they were going for but it doesn't quite work"
It's simply muddle in the shows incompatence, so it might as well not be.
If I paint a red car wait for it to dry and then slather a bunch of brown paint on the canvas, I can say all I want that there's a red car beneath the paint but at that point it doesn't matter. All the audience can see as a brown blob.
in this analogy the brown paintjob is incomplete and you can still see specks of red here and there and knowing the car was supposed to be red you can go "oh yeah, I see the red bits, it's still brown though"
Oh no you can't
It's covered
well clearly you can't. But some of those comments did put certain things in contexts that made me go "oh, so that's what that was"
but considering how much overanalysis of details people like to do I'm sure some people saw a lot more red before I did
From what Iâve read so far the Qui-Gon connection is also a bit weak. Weak in the sense that the reason why Qui-Gon is very much invested in Anakin is due to his feats it wasnât solely his high midichlorian count, clearly the boy is beyond his years. OSHA never demonstrates this, in fact we see her as a weak link outright.
The idea Headland is conveying of Anaseyaâs failure isnât even properly communicated, we just have a series of training scenes showcasing the powers of the twins⊠that isnât conveying failure of the vegans itâs just showering one is gaining abilities much faster than the other.
On top of this Qui-Gonâs mission isnât of hubris like Sol, Solâs was a selfish desire to raise in rank. That alone would raise questions in the Order considering no one outright calls themselves âthe bestâ outside of Anakin, but with him itâs his ego that aided in his fall. It depicts Jedi more like a pederasty dynamic, Torbinâs whining and then 5 year gap to master is just odd⊠also this response, I guess the next 30 mins will conclude with all our questions answered?
yeah qui gon wasnt actively going around trying to take children
they literally just happened to stumble into anakin and qui gon genuinely thought he could give anakin a better life
its completely different
On top of that Sol isnât as unorthodox as Qui-Gon, he learned much more about the nether world of the force which made him different.
idk what those words mean
Basically opposing the Jedi teachings but still a part of the Jedi order. Itâs through him that Obi and Yoda learn of the force ghosts (the nether world of the force) so we can infer he knew more about the prophecies and events than most in the order as they were textbook readers and following protocol.
Yoda even senses Qui-Gonâs spirit troubled by Anakin when he was killing the sand people.
Two more days
hype!
Two ep finale, right?
afaik its just one
Now 1
Natalie called, she wants her line back.
But yeah. I'll just move on after this show, maybe watch the fights again.
6 hours!!
Lets hope this show dies
And gets wiped from existence
Its the Acolyte, not Willow.
I want an S2 please and ty
actually so weird that disney would remove their own show from their streaming service
like if theyre paying the licensing for another show and not profiting from it, thats one thing
BUT ITS LITERALLY THEIR SHOW
Yeah the Willow thing was stupid
thats so goofy
Yeahh that made 0 sense
Sigh*
I still have my vows
My must protect Krama
AT ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL COST
Willow is getter then this
And I thought it was mid
I wouldnt go that far. Combat was kinda horrible in Willow.
I'm ready for this show to end and have zero expectations for the finale.
It might be a complicated ending. Qimir, Mae, Osha, Sol, Vernestra...they all need to die.
Or else the Jedi will know about the Sith and Ki Adi Mundi will be wrong in Phantom menace.
I don't think they'll kill everyone - they might break canon and kill the fanboys
Or maybe they'll do something unexpected. Either way, i wants to see.
how long?
oh its right now.
lets do this.
Man, the sabering in this show. I love it!!!
I think Mae and Osha are two of the most inconsistent characters Iâve seen on TV
Characters just change their mind on a whim
Itâs such terrible writing throughout
And I donât give a shit about ANYTHING đ
have you guys finished the finale yet
Would be stranger if, after learning that || Sol killed her mother, Osha forgave him. She's no Jedi.||
Not yet
Thatâs not the issue
Sol doesnât even explain how it went down
That the bitch turned into a cloud of smoke and Mae started physically fading away
yeah i feel like the jedi's actions were kinda understandable
Then Mae suddenly deciding not to kill Sol
Itâs just stupid shit after stupid shit
Then Osha turning to the dark side come on
Death is the end of suffering. She wants his to last.
And Venestra is fucking horrendous
