the third movie had the most character depth because of the time spent with Cesar+his supporting cast itās the culmination of his character arc, so they can delve into some interesting places with him and some of the other characters.
For the fourth movie, I prefer this story to the other 3ā note if youāve watched the previous 3 recently especially the third it is quite rewarding ||there are subtle and on the nose references, my favorite was regarding what happened to humans based on the ramifications of the third movie itās not explicitly stated but a portion of what the 3rd movies antagonist feared came true to humans||, as a whole I enjoyed this one more than the other 3, the cgi is amazing some of the best Iāve seen other than avatar 2, the locations are cool as well. Note the characters in the 4th movie are obviously not going to be as deep as the 3rd but if this movie is to be viewed as an intro movie to a new trilogy itās done better as an intro movie than the (2011) one. Also got heavy avatar 2 vibes for some reason. Note if the reboot series ends with this movie I would be extremely disappointed.
I could see arguments made for this being 3/5 on the low end (if you are not invested in the story/world building certain parts will drag)and 4/5 high end. For me it was a 4/5
