#Why is it that no Chinese actor/actress has ever won an Oscar for acting?

It's very rare for a non-English foregin film to win an acting Oscar. The only countries to do so are Italy (Two Women, Life is Beautiful) and France (La vie en Rose). That excludes Germany, Japan. Mexico, Spain, The Netherlands, Denmark, and more. And if only the language counts, than they have, as Michelle Yeoh and Key Huy Quan both speak Mandarin in EEAAO.
Javier Bardem is from Spain
Yes but his film is not from Spain, nor does he speak Spanish
He lives in Spain
Okay
He is from Spain
That doesn't change the fact that No Country for Old Men is not a Spanish film
Hmmm .. ok so it’s only language that counts 🤔
Language + Country the film is from
I guess I see best actor /actress about the actor /actress performance and not the film and language 🤷♀️
i think some countries hace different etiquettes and the way the people generally act. japan for example.
the japanese people act a lil differently than the people in the US, hence the non-japanese academy members do not relate to it.
He has never won an Oscar
Actually he did in 2016
isnt oscars an american invention?its a very western culture thing.
It's an American organization yes
Still counts
