People have talked about how unfair the traps were this time around. Idk, I liked it. I've always seen John as a hypocrite. Just a bitter old man pissed off that everyone else has longer to live than him. So he's just looking for an excuse. Which is why you get people in traps for smoking in earlier movies.

But this, this was one of the few times it was personal. Those traps were unfair because he subconsciously just wanted them dead. The entire idea of redeeming them is a cope to make him ok with himself.

Which is why Gabby, the one he was closest to had the only trap one could reasonably be expected to survive.

Watched Saw X and it is a good movie. I think it has a good set up in the beginning and then the usual stuff happens regarding traps and stuff. Some of the traps were brutal and hard to watch. I did have a problem with ||the main Doctor seemingly escaping or does she have to always put her head outside and if she's inside then she gets burned ?||
Overall, I really enjoyed it and it actually had some story compared to many other saw movies.

I think the movie before the one with Chris Rock had the female with a pig mask, but never got to explaining what it means, why choose her instead of all the other victims

So I just got back from seeing Saw X, the 10th entry in this almost 2 decade year old franchise. Now just for some background, I was not exactly anticipating this movie when I first heard about it. Even when the very positive reviews started coming in I still remained skeptical about this because im not exactly a Saw fan. I have seen the beloved first installment from 2004 multiple times and I must say Iā€™m not as high on as everyone else is, 2 is my favorite in the series, 3 was fine, 4 is just kind forgettable imo. After that I canā€™t really give my judgement on the rest because even tho Iā€™ve seen most of them it gets a lil fuzzy for me. I saw Jigsaw and Spiral but those were pretty lackluster installments to me, so my cold demeanor going into this one I think is understandable.

But this was surprising good, I was not expecting for it to be this well written and thought out, this movie does successfully what something like Donā€™t Breathe 2 failed to do and thatā€™s make the villain into the anti hero and somewhat sympathetic. This had some good traps very brutal especially the brain one, they were a lil hard to suspend disbelief for because your basically mutilating yourself to kind of unbelievable degree especially Mateo and Valentinaā€™s traps but I rocked with it. I think adding the child in at the end was a lil cheap to get us to route for John more, i found Amanda kind of a annoyance in this one and her purpose for being there wasnā€™t quite as concrete as I wanted it to be, I thought Cecilia got off a bit too easy at the end especially for how despicable she was, I think I was expecting a bit harder of a twist at the end especially when the famous music came on, and I thought Parker turning on John and being with Cecilia was kind of predictable. But all that aside I really liked this movie.

Ummmm šŸ˜­ Iā€™m traumatised after watching this. After one trap finished I had to pause my laptop and I sat in the corner of my room rocking back and forward for 20 minutes. Besides the traps being very horrific I think that the movie was very well done and I really enjoyed it but I will not be rewatching it again lol
