#What matters the most for you? Audio quality or Visual quality?

Visuals for me, especially since I read subtitles more often so the audio can be decent or not
same 👆
depends on how bad it is. And in what way it is bad. An audio track with a constant background buzz or humm I can't stand. Similarly I won't be watching a cam even if they somehow got a proper soundtrack over it. (though I guess cams are the worst of both worlds and basically unwatchable in every way)
I guess audio is more sensitive in the end. If the visuals are just bad quality I'll just sit a bit further away from the tv and pretend it's a vhs
i personally can watch with shitty audio cuz i read subtitles but shitty visuals make it not worth it
I guess in a worst case scenario you can always turn off the sound completely and still sorta get it with subtitles. harder to turn off the visuals completely (depending on movie I guess)
on the other hand... if there is an audio description track then... ...
it really depends, I can't bear watching a movie with insanely low audio quality even if it's being watched on a 4K screen.
I mean most of the time when I watch movies alone I watch it on my tablet and it is pretty okay
the audio quality anything special, the visual quality is good
but like I can't watch Heat with low quality audio yet I can watch it on let's say 720P or something
but I can't watch Blade Runner 2049 on 720p even with the most crisp audio quality
so at the end of the day it depends on the movie, I guess.
720p is good quality to me. It's when it's around 240p that it starts to become a bit of an issue
but then you wont look at the visuals? 🤨
Audio, definitely.
Imagine, if you will, a video at 720p. Not great, but not bad either.
Now imagine a 4K movie with the audio of 2003 YouTube, your average deep-fried meme, or the peaks loud enough to clip hard. Unbearable, am I right?
Why didn't I mention the good audio with the 720p? If the audio is good quality, it's invisible. You can get away with okay or bad visuals, but bad audio is horrible
Now imagine a 240p video with dolby atmos
Better that then to have unbearable audio
That would be hilarious tho XD
hilarious to think younger generation think 720p is bad video quality
lmao
i feel video is definitely the answer, if the audio is bad i can turn it off and use HI subtitles.
try watching a poorly cropped 144p on a potato
lmao
As a part of the younger generation, don’t think it is bad and I can love a movie even if I watch it on 720p(Dead Man’s Shoes, for example.) but movies like Blade Runner 2049 can’t be truly experienced on 720p
Like it still isn’t bad but it doesn’t fit with the amazing cinematography, y’know?
as part of the older generation 720p is still HD i grew up watching shitty VHS copies of movies, i don't mind a 720p movie yeah its nice to watch a 4k movie, i been mind blown by some restorations of old movies i watched back then and now while rewatching it felt as a whole new experience, so i get that for younger generations like yours 720p is bad quality but for me not really.
Well yeah we did have newer technologies in our hands but still, the movies ain't the same no more
Sometimes I wish that I was born in the 80s or something, experience the movies of the 90s and all
This is a cliché quote but who gives a fuck, really. Would've been great to see all of em goodies in a cinema back in the day
I have my collection of dvds and since they are dvds none of them are in hd (720+) but I still consider that image quality to be top notch...
so when people say "I can watch movies in poor quality like 720p just fine" there is indeed a personal disconnect :)
To clarify I wasn't saying 720p is bad it's just what most consider minimum quality these days since it is the lowest HD resolution obv.
I grew up with VHS too and laserdisc so I am fully on board with the SD train
