I kind of want to watch this cause it has Elizabeth Olsen in it, but I have so many shows to catch up/finish.
do you think olivia grace applegate is christinas daighter
im sure that this will get a lot of praise
Finally this is out!
More than halfway thru ep1 & I'm liking it so far. For some reason, the MC' name kept bugging me & searched it & it turns out there has already been a mini-series(Candy) starring Melanie Lynskey(not as Candy) on the same subject.
That one is in my WL(added after watching Melanie in YJ, along with many other works of her.)--So, I'm not sure whether to continue w/ this or not. Can someone who has watched both Candy and L&D(at least the eps that got released) tell me which one should I watch?
Haven't watched Candy yet, but having finished 3 episodes, I will continue to watch Love and death as I'm finding it quite interesting.
I guess, I'll watch this too.
I haven't watched Candy but I've read the story in a two part article a couple of years ago and found it really interesting. My only problem with Love and Death is I think the Allan casting is kinda weird, looking at the iMDB listing of the Candy show I think he makes a little bit more sense look wise but if you look at pics of the real Allan Gore I would say he looks like a mix of the two.
I have only had time to watch ep 1 so far.
I think Jesse plemons is great as Allan
I've watched Candy it was fine
Now that I know this is the same story I'm less interested in it
Understandable but the performances are great
in a lot of stills, I can literally see Melanie Lynskey.
This one in particular.
umm, I accidentally watched ep3 right after ep 1
Fascinating new episode, it doesn't look good that ||Candy killed Betty (even though it was self defense) and then just left the house and didn't inform anyone..||
Also it's not necessarily how it happened, it's just based on Candy's confessions. We'll never know for sure if its actually accurate and it was indeed ||self defense.||
Thank you!! Thought I was alone and was looking if it was the same lady from Last of Us!
Of course I agree.. this show is based on interpretation of Candy, we won't ever know 100% what exactly happened
I hope they somehow allude to the possibility of something else having happened in the room, maybe tease an alternate version of the ||killing scene|| without ever fully showing it. I think its the best way to honor the "This is a True Story" tag.
I think that maybe it will be shown in ||the trial but again the show is based on her account ||
I am just dumbstruck! As I said above I though Betty Gore actress looked like Melanie Lynskey, it's not it's another actress, but Melanie Lynskey plays Betty Gore in the Hulu show. Wow!
They look so much like one another in their roles and they play the same role in both shows.
Amazing.
All stories have multiple interpretations! For this list, we’ll be discussing both true crime drama series and their dissimilarities despite being based on the same true events. Some details will be discussed, so beware of potential spoilers ahead! Our list includes differences in consultants, filming locations, episode counts and more! Which se...
Is this show any good ?
Yes it absolutely is.. 4 episodes in
When it wraps I'm thinking of watching the Candy show as well, compare everything.
Olsen is maybe too sympathetic for this role.
definitely, feels like that too me as well.
I'mma end up rooting for her while I should be kinda apalled and irritated by the events that will follow, and the way she'll try to sping things etc...
What a performance by Olsen in this new episode esp ||with the psychiatrist stuff at the end||, really enjoying the show
My only gripe is dude hypnotized her in like 30 secs. Whaaaa
"She's suddenly the Scarlet Women!" Scarlet W.......? did they have to😅
Ya I was surprised as well
Candy ||becoming a family therapist in the end|| is funny.
What's great about the story is that it's very divisive, I can't really decide who's truly at fault, if there is such a thing.
Really enjoyed this series overall, I thought the finale was great, Court scenes were great and kudos to that lawyer as well who did a fabulous job and Elizabeth Olsen acting was amazing
The show is based on Candy's version but overall they did do a good showcasing other side too esp from the prosecution
Ya, it's all about priorities.. I watched the show weekly and hence it wasn't a problem for me
I'm gonna start the Hulu show now I think and I wanna compare the two, although I think the Hulu one has a more limited scope on some things.
I personally won't watch the Candy show.. Love and death is enough for me
is this good
Yes I think it is but you gotta check out for yourself
okay ty!
historical comedy of the year!
