#Succession S4 (Final Season)

The Lazarus Pit sure is handy
True just now that we know the result it hits harder. The ending was so powerful.
Except Colin
||I mean, she became her mother. Stuck in an unhappy, loveless marriage with a wealthy CEO||
And also Greg lmfao! I'm glad he finally got caught out for playing all sides while acting dumb, that felt like a proper ending for him. It kind of was lol
||And he still went crawling back to Tom after everything||
š
It was always meant to be this way
omg i never even noticed that
This is perfect
And also i just saw the ending again! I think it's possible ||Kendall might choose to live. With Kendall being followed by the shadow of his father(the guy who worked for Logan and covered up the kids death and also knows him) . Sinister in one way but also likely the only thing keeping him from killing himself.||
Or its also possible he doens't give a fck and let's him do whatever he wants lmao
Yes, but he'll most probably be a ||frozen servant. Yes he might make loads of money now but any chance of career advancement in Waystar he had hoped for is permanently dead for him. And Tom will milk him out for what he did but keeping him at bottom of the top... For sure! I mean Tom can't make his Tomelettes without breaking some Greggs lmfao||
Succession names: (Tom) Wambsgans is named for someone famous for eliminating three opponents at once: https://t.co/EazsabImFa

See date of tweet
Quite interesting
Tom was always the most competent of them all.
In terms of actually filling the CEO position.
He's got real experience unlike any of the Roys who mostly inherited their positions
I will say Kendall was alright as well compared to others but ya|| Tom also had the chops but for Mattson again its choosing someone whom he can control||
What a great ending
||From the point Ken asked 'which' it was a downward spiral ||
Doesn't matter to writers because it doesn't matter to Mattsen
perfect ending
So, Kendalls a dead man (suicide), Roman is an alone alcoholic (hopefully), and Shiv will be as unhappy as her mother (also hopefully)
We are all sad
im still not sure what happened at the meeting to cause Shiv to flip when she was on board with Ken until then
everything she said about Kendall was true the day she said she would support him
Youāve sort of answered it yourself
She didnāt go in with the intent of voting for Kendall
why say she does then?
Ken walked in there and put his shoes up on daddy's desk
To lie? False hope?
Then decided to bulldoze the board meeting and denied he ever had anything to do with someone dying
But also did she ever say sheās definitely voting for him when they were there
not sure how that helps anything. woulda made more sense to just not back him
If Kendall knew he didnāt have Shivās vote he wouldāve gone to someone else to get theirs
If he doesnāt know he canāt prepare
As far as Kendall is aware Shiv is a solid lock so heās safely won
i guess we'll be left to speculate as the show didnt really say
There's all sorts of reasons
No but itās clear why she changed her mind anyway
She gains more from Tom being in charge
Tom, Kendall's incompetence, her instilled drive to compete against her siblings etc
If the vote was a landslide she would have gone with it but to be in the control spot she couldn't let it happen
I feel bad for Tom and Shiv's unborn child, that kid's gonna be fucked
hopefully Roman has a terrible life of solitude and booze
and hopefully Shiv feels life long guilt at her brothers suicide
I donāt think Kendall is gonna kill himself
Itās definitely an āitās all bullshitā moment
hes an addict, and he said if it cant be him "thats it for me", and the last time we saw him the sun was setting on him
Of course, he is a direct representation of his father
But he also carries that motivation to do it for his kids
i think hes a dead man
Colin stood in the background, like Kendall is leaving behind the last part of that life
Well I think of all the lowest points in my life and Iām sure lots of people would agree
The answer isnāt always suicide
sure its not always the answer, but for Ken i think it is
Itās just awfully pessimistic
We know that Kendall always loses but he always comes back up
Literally every single season finale he lost big time but he comes back
cant wait for the spin off
Jeremy Strong wasn't optimistic but if Kendall can find something he'll be ok
Ken will go back to drugs 1st, will have no family to stop him as his wife and kids wont be there if hes hi and Shiv is now his enemy. Roman is worthless in helping anyone... I feel Ken is gone
If only he had kids or something
he had kids the last time he did drugs and they didnt stop him
Logan did and the desire to be king
That was a reply to the message above to be fair
ah
But no you have a good point
Mr Mom 2: Kendall's Coming Home
I just think whatās one thing we know about Kendall
He does not give up he doesnāt stop
If this wasnāt the final season everyone would be saying he was just sad
Kendall being an obsessive helicopter parent has great comedy potential
The Hundred can still happen. His guy Tellis is right there with him
Jeremy says he shot a full take in which he jumped over the fence
so kendall with all the cash from the sale, can't renegotiate PGN because they no longer have logan competing with them, and build that up to be better than the stupid swede shit
Even with the cash its not like he's worth tens of billions of dollars though
he could get a loan from an investor and give them a stake in the business
I doubt a lot of investors will trust him now though but he can try, I do think as Jeremy Strong said in that podcast, ||he thinks Kendall is just done being a businessman now, his whole life is over ||
HBOās Succession depicts a wealthy family fighting for control over their international media conglomerate, Waystar Royco. But what do the finances look like for characters in the family like Cousin Greg, Kendall and Logan Roy?
And is a $40,000 watch a good investment for Greg? How much does Tom and Shivās apartment cost? WSJ asked a certified ...
Dear succession watchers could you rate this finale?
8
- One lost point for no Jess
9 out of 10
Goddamn
She made him drink that disgusting concoction and everything
Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook and the crew shaving off Jeremy Strongās hair on the final day of filming for āSUCCESSIONā.
Fuck shiv for that
my fucking god
Alright, best scenes. My pick https://youtu.be/Z9_5YkXdNnY
Tom is not too happy about Logan planning to can him.
Quote: "What the fuck was that!? - He ate my fucking chicken. So, what next? Stick his cock into my potato salad?"
From Succession (HBO), episode S02E10 named "This Is Not For Tears", aired on October 13, 2019.
All rights belong to HBO and Waystar Royco.
for that?
Im more offended she made him drink it and then fucked him over than just normally fucking him over. Like why š
the only person who could eat his chicken is his successor
No way, people are honestly asserting Shiv was character assassinated in this episode ā ļø
After that letter from her in season 3 I can't believe anyone is surprised she could publicly stab him in the back
Probably the first time anyones ever surprised him in a long time or even ever
Kinda surprised they went with pretty straightforward finale
Was it straightforward? That wouldve ben Ken being Ceo
Ya the succession finale wasn't straightforward
Nah, Ken is not a real boy, he couldn't be the CEO
I'd watch that
Had to buy it
I'll wait for a box set, hopefully which includes some of Kendall's tears
and Toms puppet strings
That's the ultimate farce of the show
No matter how defeated and betrayed these people are they remain almost impossibly rich
yeah this has to be the best season right?
Fucking people just refuse to accept something has an ending, fuck https://twitter.com/strangeharbors/status/1663244375953129472
Why can't these people just write fix-it fics on Ao3 like normal people
Smh
Always a grift
Just like that guy who tried to crowdfund a continuation of Breaking Bad
I didnāt buy the season!
Itās a script book
Ah that makes sense
I don't think Kendall's gonna commit suicide, my reasoning and perspective as i said aboveāš» @atomic mango
Ohh ffsšš¤¦š»
I think it goes for every single season of Succession. A through and through masterpiece with no weak episode.
Each of them crafted exceptionally well.
I bet their idea of continuing is Kendall just forcing his way back in or something.
they want to make more but dont have the imagination to do so
eh i think some of the earlier ones arent that great
I think they want a done and tired ending of Kendall being on top like a lone king with nothing and no one around him like a sort of Godfather esque type ending ffs.
But they don't know Jesse Armstrong and Adam McKay and the co always intended this to be a rather somber tragic Shakespearen tale where no one gets what they want. Its sort of like a cross between subverted King Lear & Macbeth lol which is absolutely fantastic š„šš»
As it was always described and intended, the ending was just a tragedy. Truthfully, it could've never been Kendall. Everything the series showed us about the cracks growing up under the pressure of being the presumed successor the addiction, estrangement, and manic episodes-made it evident that, while best prepared, it would've killed him. Shiv, though as much a killer as any, was too impulsive, to desperate for approval. For Roman, I honestly think once closeness to his dad was impossible and once he realized he himself couldn't handle the pressure, it all meant nothing-for him, I truly think he wanted closeness with family and his father.
Though it would've happened regardless, I found myself tripping when Shiv left the room, and left Mattson. It was the same mistake Roman made at the end of the last season-hubris blinded them both and what they thought was certain faded.
My 2 cents about Gregs possible future from my perspective @nocturne chasm āš»
yeah no he uses every chance he gets at knifing whoever he has to knife just in order to go up
he really isnt that dumb
Let them have there fan fiction itās fun.
or dumb at all
Cause heās in love with him
ha ha ha
That's why I'm glad he got caught playing out all sides while acting dumb(i think he's dumb and people give him more credit than he really deserves lmao) this felt like a proper ending for him. And Tom will obviously be careful and milk him out for every scheme he had up his sleeve that dumb fck
Duh! He can't make his Tomelettes without breaking few Greggs!
i think the whole shipping tom and greg thing is the worst thing to happen to the show other than casting dasha nekrasova
his security wont be with him 100% of the time. and he wont stop Kendall for relapsing into drugs. Kendall is a dead man to me. His wife and kid left, his father died, what he thought of as his birthright was taken from him. also, he said he was done if he couldnt have this. then the last time we see him, the sun is setting on him.
literally the two most heterosexual characters in the whole show
because tom has always been someones lapdog, he just wants someone to be his. even as CEO he is still a lapdog and greg will still be his
i mean yeah but hes kind of a dangerous lapdog? you can get a less dangerous lapdog i'm sure
Itās heartbreaking to me even though, heās a terrible person. It must be Jeremy Strong that makes me feel bad for him or just the good writing.
if one enjoys their dog, they dont get rid of it
Hence why i said the next text below it's also possible he doesn't give a fck and he let's Kendall do what he wants
which is fine either way.
security isnt with someone 24/7, even if his security desperately wants to prevent it, they have no way of stopping it
i hope after Kendall offs himself (either purposely or with drugs), Roman never talks to Shiv again
i dont think kendalls gonna spiral that much lol hes still egregiously rich
He can be but he got caught playing all sides and Tom I'm pretty sure won't let him get his way everytime. Its possible he might be more careful while being more strict on him.
I think ain't as that clever and subvertive enough to backstab everytime. I mean we saw how it mostly worked out.
i think either way it's better to keep him away
i never hated Kendall or Shiv, it was really Roman who I always felt was irredeemably terrible, from season 1 episode 1
easiest way to get back on him is to have him be his footstoole
Same never felt bad for Roman. I liked Shiv in season 2, but I knew she couldnāt do the job. If Kendall would have stuck to the killer instincts before the finale he would be Logan 2.0. Instead he was just a child like heās been all four seasons.
That's sort of my point and he more or less will take it and tries to move on with some other stuff. I think he even seem to took Romans words to heart when he said we're nothing
well just finished the episode and idk what to feel
kinda wanted Ken to win but dude was a asshole
like everyone else
imo Breaking Bad had the best finale ever because it had satisfying ending
Thatās kind how I felt after watching it.
i dont think this show was meant to have a satisfying ending
even if it ran for another season i dont understand how it could still have a "satisfying" ending
i watched this show until end credits i dont think i ever did it for another show
well there's fanfic then there's funding a continuation via AI
Fanfiction is fun and great and I love it but the normal way to do it is writing fix-its on Ao3 and not crowdfunding an AI-generated series
im happy with the ending. Roman lost which is nice (i wouldve kicked in my TV if Roman won), Shiv who was VERY mean to Tom early on, will now have to deal with a new power dynamic in their relationship, Connor stays Connor, Kendal devolves
i mean it is kinda satisfying the most these characters actually deserved was to die lol
they are all evil
imo in a TV show you can support the assholes there is nothing wrong with it in that terms
but its 2 different shows
EXTREMELY different shows
i dont see how you can top the ending for THIS show
i mean they literally helped establish a neonazi president 2 episodes ago
its weird in terms of that
they kind of deserve everything that happens to them
i agree
but not in terms of character but in terms of story there feels something not satisfying to me
but it was never supposed to be "satisfactory"
you know what i mean?
actually idk what i mean
i dont really care about satisfaction when it comes to plots
but the finale was a big impact
it did its job
i dont think this show could have done a better job with its Impact
mostly in right terms
thats all my thoughts lol
I mean, what you wanted to happen? for failsons to get power?
I mean, Shiv and Tom are just as bad as each other
They almost deserve each other in a way bc they both suck and their marriage is fucking loveless but they'll never leave each other
I mean, thats why the writing of the show is so good
i mean yeah
EVERYONE in the show objectively sucks but you're still "rooting" for them in a way
i would be lying if i said i didnt cry when logan died
and he is pretty much literal satan
Folk saying Shiv saved Kendall. I mean maybe but idk
Dude straight lost the one actual thing he seemed to care about. He sure as shit doesnāt have Rava or his kids because of how he treats them
I did get sad a little when ||Logan died ||, which I didnāt expect cause I donāt like him.
i think that scene had something really raw yet real to it in that that whole sequence is exactly how such events often play out now, even pre covid, of the mad scramble to figure out what to do as its happening and you are miles away
I think Kendall is better at consulting or even doing startups
Same. That episode was tough. I didnāt really care for the series for a few episodes. Thatās when I realized I honestly went through the 5 stages of grief when Logan died. The 3 stooges arenāt really the best people and characters but Logan made the show very engaging. That said, this show is phenomenal and it ended on a high note
Will say, Succession was initially a 5 season show. š©
For a second I thought ||Kendall was gonna off himself at the end||
Actually.. ||Jeremy strong said that he did film the scene of Kendall falling off in the river but it wasn't shown at the end||
Lol makes sense
I actually prefer how it played out, ||him leaving with the knowledge that he failed and that he'd never be good enough||
not what happened
||In the take not used, Strong took the scene one step further, actually climbing onto the barrier only to be pulled back by bodyguard Colin (Scott Nicholson).
āI looked at these waves and it was so windy that day and so cold and there was some piece of metal clanging and it was this terrible sound and I sort of couldnāt bear it. I stood up and walked slowly to the barrier that was set up there and climbed over it,ā Strong says. āI didnāt really know what I planned to do, and the actor playing Colin saw me and ran and stopped me from doing it.ā
āIām sure Jesseās choice is better,ā he says, āand in a way I think you see the intentionality in the character.||
Guess I wasn't paying attention to the podcast
That shipping was probably premature lol
Tho you have to wonder what kind of prenup Connor made her sign
So the real losers of succession are the theatergoers of New York
Assuming Mencken wins
I am going to be hopeful and assume that he ultimately does not
So many great episodes
"No Sean you're the Roman"
Shiv was pulling some fucking deranged faces in that scene lol
felt like the face of someone knowing they're upsetting their sibling, like they're taking their toy away
She always makes some odd faces, but yeah in that scene she made a lot š. That scene was fantastic
shiv could be a great joker
I loved Predestination
i like how this show ends and we get one final "jeremy strong sounds like a crazy person" snippet
in that he unscripted improvises "attempting to jump off the dock"
I don't think I have ever listened to this many podcasts regarding a series finale than Succession one
Actor Jeremy Strong talks to CNN's Anderson Cooper about the last scene of the finale of the Emmy Award-winning series "Succession."
#CNN #News
i dont mind Shiv's decision, i just think her timing was a bit odd
everything she says about Ken is true, but they were also true of Ken the night before, so why at the last minute?
she totally has issues. shes now her mom
and she basically killed her brother. no way Ken survives no direction, no wife/kids, and a drug habit
thats ken alright. when i hear him say, "if i cant have this thats it for me" and the last time we see him the sun is setting on him, im inclined to think hes a dead man
Well I think ||she supported Kendall at first because she was super angry at Mattson for betraying her and it was just a emotional decision.. but then few hrs before the board meeting, she finds out that Tom is actually the chosen CEO and I guess after that she thought about all the possibilities and chose the one that may benefit her.. plus the way Kendall came after her and not giving her space and that lying about manslaughter just solidified her belief that Kendall wasn't the right person for the job. ||
Jeremy strong says ||this is a extinction level event for Kendall and Jesse Armstrong says this is the singular most important event of Kendall's life and while it's possible he will form a new company later on, he will never reach the heights of his father and that will always bother him||
yeah i heard a few people saying if Ken held it together when Shiv started waffling, she may have stayed the course
at least he'll without question get higher (drugwise) than Logan ever did in his life
We will never know but ||Ken going there didn't help, he even lost Roman at that point ||
Yup and I think he's more or less ||done for a few years at least.. he has nobody but Colin with him now except of course billions of dollars ||
it makes sense that all logans kids are nuts tho
all i kept thinking about as logan was dying is, If he can actually hear what theyre saying to him on the phone, he must hear nothing but his own failure as a parent. cause none of them could articulate emotion very well
having 2 shitty parents at once is a rough hand to be dealt. then be wealthy on top of it and not really be expected to do anything
All three are nuts not just one, and honestly ||once Kendall lied about that manslaughter incident, that was the final nail in the coffin.. even Roman didn't support Ken after that ||
Well, ||She also has a baby coming though and I guess she feels she can get along with Tom much more than Kendall who btw, cut her out when he was Co CEO of the company, so now she gets billions of dollars from the sale along with being close to CEO of the company ||
Tom and Shiv relationship is definitely not a healthy one but again, the whole situation is horrible
Ya but again ||She gets billions of dollars and can easily live by herself later, there was no guarantee of that if Kendall ran the company but then destroyed it tanking the share price ||
Your last point exactly.. ||Shiv realised that if she made Kendall CEO then he will just cut her out of the company and she may not be able to do anything at that point, also ya she might have felt that Kendall was becoming Logan 2.0 as well.. again hosts of reasons and that Kendall lying about manslaughter was the last straw ||
Regarding Shiv, I also wonder ||If it wasn't Tom who was gonna be CEO but let's say that Vaulter guy or someone, would she have voted for Kendall then?? ||
Itās been almost three days and I still canāt stop thinking about the finale.
Letās just say it hit me pretty hard with what happened to ||Kendall||. ||I know heās terrible, but I still want to support him. ||
Thatās when Logan knew ||Tom should be CEO after heās gone ||
Whatās he gonna do next? Stick his cock in my potato salad?
The cast of Succession talk about what it was like on the last day of filming the show and the end of the series overall. Succession is streaming now on Max.

The writers really went with ||the guy who swallowed his own cum as the new CEO
||
||he won the moment he ate Loganās chicken||
"Succession: The Full Scripts" includes deleted scenes, alternative dialogue and character directions that shed a light on how the cast transformed each scene from the page to the screen. https://t.co/kLNCc8Kxdf
hes more puppet than CEO tho. Matsson owns him and beat all the Roys
Yeah he is, still he enjoys the status of the position
Still wouldnt say he won
||The only winner was Matsson||
i guess it really was the only satisfying way to end it. had any of the siblings won over the other, 1/3 of the audience would be happy and 2/3 would riot
Yeah I didnt want any of them to win
ida been ok with kendall, but theyre all assholes who deserve nothing in the end
tho i still kinda wish the kid Roman trolled in season 1 episode 1 randomly showed up in the finale to get some bodily revenge on Roman
I had to buy the book
I got it for season 4
And really trying to resist getting it for season 3
Kinda wish Roman got a bit more comeuppance. Had his face squeezed for a few seconds, about it
yeah, that brief knockdown wasnt enough. i needed him knocked out cold at least
He was Fikret this whole time
So then Succession was the last thing Ferrell and McKay worked together on
If Ferrell even did anything lol
This is perfect lol
isnt it? I dont even know how someone thinks of this lol
tho i guess MacFadyen mildly resembles the guy on the poster
Shiv def looks the part
Jeremy looks like he'd be one of those extremely pretentious professors who peaked in college
Brianās the theatre studies teacher, Jeremy would probably be like an analysis on authors teacher, Sarah literature, Matthew poetry perhaps, Nicholas is his student aide, Kieran Iām not sure and Alan is general English
Sarah and Matthew are the cool and chill professors who share pictures of their cats and give out a reasonable amount of work
A week since the succession finale and still amazing
Top 5 shows easy
Def
Based
Actually, it's Cox who is the true method actor on the show
Sarah and Matthew are basically the only non-method actors on the show at this point
They seem to be so lovely in real life and the complete opposite of Tom and Shiv
well, we can include Brian in that considering his vocal hatred of the method lol
What did Brian Coxās character Logan Roy mean when he tells his children that theyāre not serious people?
āWell, he means theyāre not serious people.ā #ActorsOnActors https://t.co/CugS5KUuh6
In their Actors on Actors conversation, Brian Cox ('Succession') and Emily Blunt ('The English') connect over their love for theater, their approach to acting, and life in Brooklyn. Brian unpacks Logan Roy's complicated love for his kids, his shocking death, and the audience's reaction: "It's not easy being an icon." Emily shares her thoughts as...
miss this show so bad lmao
romulus
"You better be pickin' yer nose, Romulus."
Romulus, when you laugh, please do it at the same volume as everyone else. We didnāt get you from a hyena farm
Thatās the right episode to choose for sure. Sarah is going to win the Emmy.
He was fantastic in that episode
Alas, it has arrived
damn
i have read the paragrph that describes shiv and tom's final hand scene. It's amazing
SEND IT
it was on someone's story don't have it on me personally
actually wait let me check if i can find a soft copy
check your DMs\
Where can I find these scripts?
You can buy script books for every season
I see
booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
David Chase has not been answering about ending of The Sopranos for 2 decades, don't you know how to leave things ambiguous?
I guess the big mystery theyāll want to keep up is if Kendall offed himself or not (Jeremyās method acting improv isnāt canon lol)
Mark Mylod says he believes Kendall killed himself
So depends if you want to go with what the creators say
Well, for me Logan Roy may have underlined that but I think he did it much before and that definitely wasn't his intention later on.
It's highly likely that he underlined it since when we usually do it ourselves we don't tend to mess up at the start of the line.
Unless Logan wasn't wearing his glasses or something it's rare that anyone in his place would start a crossed out line from underneath the word.
alternate ending
No wonder the writing was so good in this show
Insane
That's how every how's writers room looks like lol
Not every show has this many writers and that's one of the main sticking points behind the strike.. minimum writers room.
9? That's still far from "insane". It's on par or maybe even below average from HBO show
I'm talking about overall TV shows like Netflix shows among others
All the more insane if it was below average statistics wise and these guys gave succession
:kekw:
i never said its not insane for other shows' writers room
but to get a glimpse behind the writers room for this show is kinda insane ngl
Call it what u would say average, normal, or whuhuhboot
Itās cool to see masters at work
That would have been interesting but in hindsight the final season of Succession was near perfect and I loved the finale
I appreciate that just as this show ends, the real thing its inspired by has logan semi retiring and kendall "taking over" before logan dies
Rupert saw season 4 and decided he had to step down before this happened
Near perfect?
It was no Ahsokaā¦lol
Yes.. no TV show is really perfect
Nothing can compare to Ahsoka actually according to some people
āmom what weāre succession sundays like?ā
me:
This is the scene that won them both a Golden Globe
https://youtu.be/KH55hmX0-Uo?si=ZIA1ic-hcARJ_HY2 that scene without the annoying background music
Shiv and Tom decide to clear the air about their relationship, personally and professionally.
The final season of Succession is airing now on HBO Max.
