Eons ago in the year 2020, some media reviewers noted that an oversaturation in streaming services and content would lead to people feeling like there is too much content for them to consume, and thus abandoning most streaming services in favor of the one they liked the most.

With news of all these cancellations and budget cuts from across all streaming platforms, is it safe to say that the streaming bubble has finally burst? For me, I feel like it has. Whether I liked a lot of streaming shows or not, I simply could not watch all of them. Does anyone else feel this way?

lol i do agree that there's lots of content and i dont have enough time to watch it all. But no way one single platform has everything i like or would like to watch.

I don't think it has burst yet but Certainly industry people are realising that they are making just too much TV that not many can consume, i personally think such realisation is a good thing. I want less TV shows but with more quality compared to many shows which is the case right now.

Also, the model of making original expensive streaming movies I think is gonna end soon. Netflix has to recognise that I feel, like if they make a expensive movie they have to show it in a theatre for a bit and only then in streaming. Makes zero sense to make a 200 million dollars movie and send it straight to streaming.

High supply low demand, no scarcity factor, bound to happen

Yes thanks to Netflix, and Warner Bros Discovery. Cancelling potentially good shows/movies in development for no reason

So they cancelled 1899, and other animated stuff when in development for some reason

Setting aside the matter of the cancellation of various good quality series, the streaming bubble started because everything of worth was on Netflix, now we have 4 maybe 5 major streaming services and people don't wanna pay for all of them but at the same time they don't wanna get trapped within the content limitations of a specific service.

So long story short, we're kinda on our way back to being like cable. And that means that history will repeat itself. Someone will show up, and it might be already happening I don't know, and they're gonna bundle streaming services for a lower price, somehow this will get oversaturated and ruined as well.

I don't think we are gonna back to cable mainly because people still have a choice and I think vast majority of people won't subscribe to all major streaming services and there will be a lot of churn as well..

The only problem is for people who wanna watch everything at the same time and hence have to subscribe to multiple streaming services.. I don't think vast majority of people are like that
