Thanks!
If you have a Mac, Highland Pro 2 has all the basic features for script writing available for free. It’s my favorite software to write in. You can unlock advanced features for a one time $50 purchase, but it isn’t necessary
Also HandBreak is another great tool to have. Completely free, allows you to encode media to compatible formats. You can use hand break to convert media if your editing software is having compatibility issues.
OBS Can be finicky at times, but is another great tool for doing streaming, display capture, and desktop recordings. Also completely free, and with a lot of YouTube tutorials on how to set it up properly
Filmic Pro is an app for iPhone. It is pretty expensive in terms of apps, but if you find yourself using your phone a lot for recording, it’s a no brainer. It allows you to enable/disable stabilization, control white balance, focus, essentially turning your phone into a cinema camera feel
They also have an add on app called Double Take. Only available for iPhone’s with 2 or more cameras, this app allows you to record with 2 cameras simultaneously, allowing you to get 2 different focal points of the same take. I’ve used this for a lot of hiking videos
This one isn’t necessarily a software, but I find them incredibly handy to have. The Samsung T7 Portable Drives work wonders. They are wicked fast, allowed you to edit and export directly to the drive. You can transfer projects from computer to computer just by plugging and playing. You can also record directly to the drive using any camera with a usb c out (all black magic cameras).
Other than DaVinci Resolve (which McMeller mentioned above), that’s about all I got for now @marsh sand but I’ll post more if they come to mind
Thanks!
Thanks!
@hearty elbow all the equipment sounds great! However, I have a Windows. Although, from what I've seen, it seems like a fantastic software. Thanks for the suggestion! If you have any in mind for Windows, let me know! Also, @oak gull , I'll check out Trelby. Thanks to you both!
Both HandBreak and Resolve should work on windows, but unfortunately highland won’t be available
