I don't think there is an objective answer.

It depends on the course (there are multiple stats and mechanics courses) , the prof and also your background (as someone who is mainly studying maths I tend to say physics is more difficult for me).

nah mechanics is only hard when the profs with holds information from you and expect you to just go along with it

like this damped forced oscillations, the profs kept saying let f(t)= 0 even though f(t) is a function of time and will change the static equillbrium

and hte ysaid that the reason for it was to set the origin at the static equillibrium which was partially true for t = 0 , but what about t>0? and it turns out that the constant behind f(t) just gets absorbed into the Complementary function

but the way he kept explaining it was disingenious, which was most likely he didn't understand it himself

Every subject gets complicated if you keep learning more and more. Mechanics is more than F = mg.

Also personally my experience in physics exams was that most problems were solvable, but the amount of questions that need to be answered in the time given makes it difficult anyways.

If your question is which of your two courses is harder then there we cannot give you an answer as we are not part of the courses.

before i thought that there must a definitive answer, obviously when learning both at the same depth and at the expected competency
