I have a weird kind of trouble in terms of constructing an equation given the graph of a transformed tan function. in general form atan(b(x+c)) + d:

I think I have b covered since you figure that out from the period but how about a, c and d?
I listed the properties:

  • If it has no horizontal dilation, the asymptote should be exactly a half period from the y axis. So essentially is this how I get c?
  • there should be an x intercept in the middle of 2 asymptotes (how do I utilise this information?)
  • How would you even know if a graph is vertically dilated, vertically translated or both?
