I'm not sure what your teacher meant, but what you need to do here is to make the equation into y = {something}, without any y on the other side.

but by doing that, we also have to subtract x from the left to keep the two sides of the equation, well, equal.

when you substitute the 2y where the x goes, do you put the 2y by itself or does the x go somewhere
if y + x = 460 (for example) and x = 2y, then just put the 2y where the x was.
you'd get y + 2y = 460 in this case.

up to this line you are correct. I don't know where the 15x came from though.
(for question 3.)
for question 5, it is more advisable to arrange the first equation for x instead of for y.
The teacher told us that to distribute if we multiply 5x 15 it’s 15x

actually question 3 is quite obvious if you look at it.
let me show you an insight for that question alone.
x=4?
you have
x + y = -15
x - y = -15
notice that if you add y to x, you get the same thing as if you subtract y from x.
that should clue you into the fact that y = 0.
then x would be whatever is on the right.
the insight here is that y seems to be doing nothing to the value of x. the only number that does this via addition and subtraction is 0.
but for your purposes, don't skip the steps. keep doing what you're currently doing.
