#What is the largest formula in mathematics? Does anyone know?

largest as in popular? innovation? actual length?
Bigger in terms of size
2+2
There is no biggest formula really as they all can be endlessly complex and massive, just as there is no “biggest number”.
Was it examples that you wanted?
This one is really large
I want one that doesn’t involve infinite series
But, seriously, in my opinion, it might be Einstein’s Field equations.
Probably Quartic is getting there
It’s that gap of you can read it on an image or not
Yeah i was thinking Quartic Polynomial equation
these are the longest ones i could find in google
its the langragian form/deconstructed form of standard model eqn of particle ohysics
this thingy basically explains everything we know about particle physics in the MOST compact form
despite what it looks like so
yh
This is huge! But I think the quartic equation formula is bigger because there are 4 roots, meaning for each root there’s a small variation, and putting it all together makes it really massive
youre right- the expanded form of quartic equation formula is deffo bigger
but the langragian formula is more of a model than a formula
whereas quartic equation is a formula
so yours answers the question better
Yeah, there really won’t be anything bigger without using infinite series
yeah and infinite series doesnt rlly count tbf xD
Looking at it, it really is
the interesting part is more the fact that its literally just the FULL theory of particle phsyics and everything scientists know about it written in the most compact form they could think of
its talking about how particles interact with each other and shit
Wow, it’s really complex, I didn’t even know that
if you tried to expand it, you would get the literal entire theory of particle physics
it uses a lot of shortforms and sigma notations and still takes that long to write, and apparently even people who’ve taken bachelors in particle physics can barely understand the barebones of it
and even struggle to understand the simplified (as in more simple, not more compact) forms of it
😭 physics you asshole
anyway, im infodumping cuz i thought this was interesting
tell me more about the quartic eqn
cuz i know barely anything abt it
Hahaha, something this big and complex is hard to understand. I’ve only seen things like the golden ratio, Euler’s constant, the partial derivative symbol
sorry
I wrote it in another language
The quartic equation has 4 roots, a formula that nobody uses, but if you understand the cubic, you understand the quartic. It has Vieta’s relations, and other than that I think there’s nothing more, but the quartic function is more interesting
ye i figured- are you spanish speaking?
like
is your mothertongue spanish
I speak Portuguese
no problem
<33
thank you for explaining
You’re welcome
