My math exam is coming up and I have no idea how to do quadratics. I need to review all of this (im pretty good on section 7 and 8. Aka trigonometry). I know it's a lot to ask but I need to learn this 😭 🙏

to solve a quadratic use the quadratic formula or complete the square methods

#

of [-b±sqrt(b²-4ac)]/2a

#

thats the quadratic formula

#

complete the square is a bit more complicated

#

and like he said

#

b²-4ac

#

if greater than 0 theres 2 solutions

I need to learn how to use 1. Linear systems (not quadratics but I dont understand it)
2. Analytic geometry.
3. Quadratic relation.
4. Factoring expressions.
5. Quadratics equations in vertex form
6. Solving Quadratics equations

(no real ones anyway)

For chapter 1 I need to know

  • how to solve systems of linear equations using substitution and elimination.
  • solve them by graphing.
  • solve application problems.

For chapter 2 I need to:

  • find the midpoint of a line segment.
  • calculate distance between 2 points.
  • determine equation of a circle.
  • solve problems using analytics geometry formulas.
  • Identify a triangle through its vertices.

For 3 I need to know:

  • how to identify key features of the graph of a parabola
  • drtermine x intercept in factored form.
  • determine equation from a graph.
  • determine zeros and the max/min value of a quadratic relation.

For 4:
-expand and simplify second-degree polynomial expressions.

  • factor polynomial expressions involving common factors, trinomials, and difference of squares.
  • determine zeros and the min/max of a quadratic relation in factored form.

For 5:

  • explain roles of a, h, and k in y = a(x-h)² + k using proper terminology and describing transformations.
-find vertex and axis of sym of a parabola in vertex form.
  • sketch by hand a graph of y = a(x-h)² + k by applying transformations.
  • write an equation in vertex form by completing the square

For 6:

  • solve quadratic equations that have real roots using factoring, isolating, and the quadratic formula.
  • interpret real and non real roots of a quadratic equation.
  • solve problems arising from a realistic situation represented by graph or equation of a quadratic relation.
