hello , worked out the integral of sec^4x. tan^5x by using a trick but im struggling to work out the intergral with the powers switched

what so its $\int{}\sec^4{x}\tan^5{x}dx$?

no sec^5x.tan^4x

#

you said tan in the post

graceful fiber
#

by bad fixed it

tan = sin/cos

#

you can use that i think

integration by parts with trig functions doesnt work im pretty sure tho

#

unless you get like a specific power here

fleet crystal
#

its the only one that works here

#

5 and 4 in those places are bad numbers

okay then theres no need then, thought there was sum neat trick like used in my first eg sec^2=Tan^2 +1

fleet crystal
#

do that to get a sec^9 and sec^7

#

then each integration by part reduces the power by 2

here is the easier one
