I mean to break it down, steps to follow would be

  1. Factor the inside part
  2. Find the period
  3. Find the vertical and horizontal translation
  4. Find the midline and amplitude (it helps to draw dotted lines for the midline and the lowest and highest y values)
  5. Scale by pi/4 and start graphing

Also one other thing that helps me is that once u get ur key point for the function (pi/3,1) in this case, u can just graph the rest of the function by following the pattern highest point middle point lowest point middle point etc

If the sine is negative, the pattern starts at lowest point from the key point

It works since u scaled ur x axis by the period/4
