first of all dilation in math means that we change the size of an object without changing its shape

say i have a equilateral triangle of side lenth 6 units, now i say im dilating it by scale of 2 id get a equilateral triangle with side length 12 units

now coming back to the qn, OP, as the coordinates of point Z are (6,8), dilation of pt Z by a factor of 1/2 leaves us with coordinates (3,4)
