guys I need help
Hey
I just checked and I noticed you didn’t factorize correctly in the first line of your equation
Right side. Check again
why would there be a line there
I thought the sign would only be a negative if its on the left side of the number
There supposed to be a minus sign on the « 8x »
So « -8x »
I’ll explain to you why
yes
Actually i misreaded, there isn’t supposed to be any 8x
You are not supposed to distribute it in the parens
Since it’s not a multiplication
It is a substraction
it is?
8-(x-7) that’s what I see
« 8 minus (x-7) »
No no it’s even simpler than that
8-(x-7)= 8-x+7 (you distribute -1 in the parens which changes the signs of each numbers in your parens)
brb
back
oh I seeee
kinda confused why you would add 8 and 7 if they aren't next to eachofher
Oh that. Then let’s try something: can you simplify 1+x-6+2x-7
Whenever you’re in that situation, always add the numbers with the numbers and the x with the x
Can you try?
8-(x-7) = 8-1(x -7), right? so u distribute the -1 across the parentheses to get 8-1(x-7) = 8-x + 7 = 15 - x.
