Yeah I mean this is something you just know
(a+b)(a^2-ab+b^2)=(a^3+b^3)
Is the issue finding a factor or factorising after you found one
You can verify that it's true but it's kind of a pattern recognition thing
Yeah I think they're just asking how you get from x^3+8 to the stuff on the right

I think factoring does but in the explicit example they showed with the numerator and denominator those are things to memorize
Difference of squares and sum of cubes
Though okay its pretty trivial to get there without memorizing the formula too
For x^3+8=0
x^3=-8
x=-2
So you know (x+2) is a factor
You can use synthetic division or long division or wtv to get the other factor
