1115 The expression (30 - a) / (2 + 4) has the value 3.

What will the value be if

a) the parentheses around the numerator are removed
b) the parentheses around the denominator are removed
c) both parentheses are removed?

1116 For which positive integer values of a is the quotient
36/(a/10)

a) less than 1
b) greater than 36
c) less than 9
d) greater than 3?

1117 A number is multiplied by 4.
From the product, 7 is subtracted.
The difference is divided by 3.
The quotient is raised to the power of 3.
The value of the power is 27.

What was the original number?

okay, so in the 1115 first write an equation (30-a)/(2+4) = 3 and calculate a

then u have just integers; a),b),c) tasks are about the counting order

in 1116, division can be represented as multiplying by 1/denominator
so like 36/(a/10) is like 36*(1/(a/10)) soo 36*10/a soo 360/a

so then u have to find what range of "a" variable fits the conditions

in 1117, just write it step-by-step as an equation, then solve it

thats all for starting hints i think, try solving this by yourself, though if u gonna need any further help just say, we gonna think ๐Ÿ™‚

okay so a) produced 30 - a/6
while a=12 its 28, right?

wind zealot
#

yes

half star
#

so b) is (30-12)/2 + 4

#

so how much is it?

wind zealot
#

wait, why did the 2 and the 4 get seprated?

half star
#

removed parentheses around denominator

wind zealot
#

ohhhh

half star
#

i have put a lot of spacebars to show it better

wind zealot
#

sry for the misunderstanding

half star
#

dw dw

wind zealot
#

13

half star
#

great

#

can u deal with c) then?

wind zealot
#

let me try

half star
#

sure

#

soo how is it going?

wind zealot
#

I got it

#

the answer was 28

half star
#

okay good

#

so u got my hint for 1116?

#

cuz i feel it may be a bit complicated

wind zealot
#

sure

#

I'm at b) rn

#

i solved a)

half star
wind zealot
#

360

half star
#

like 360/360 is 1

#

and u r asked for it to be less than one

#

so like

#

a has to be more than 360

#

right?

wind zealot
#

idk man

half star
#

okay soo

#

360 by 100 is 3.6

#

360 by 359 is 1.something

#

360 by 360 is 1

#

360 by 361 is a bit less than one

#

like 0.99..

#

360 by 3600 is 0.1

#

so less than one

#

360 by 36000 is 0.01 ,still less than one

#

u see my point?

wind zealot
#

yeah

half star
#

so like the answer for a) is a>360

crude ridge
#

are u still on b?

wind zealot
crude ridge
#

btw

#

dont forget about negative values when talking about ranges

#

nevermind

#

the question talks abt positive int values

#

my fault

half star
#

cuz forgot xd

#

but yea its not a thing in this question

half star
#

so how are things with b?

wind zealot
#

not that good, actually

half star
#

okay

#

so 360/a = 36

#

how much is a?

wind zealot
#

10

half star
#

okay

#

so now u have

#

360/a > 36

#

so, multiplying both sides by a, assuming a is positive

#

360>36a

#

so if u divide it by 36, u have an answer

half star
#

but now ur thinking which option fits

wind zealot
half star
#

so which one?

wind zealot
#

more?

half star
#

360>36a
10>a

#

so ten has to be more than a

#

so

#

a<10

#

so less than 10

#

right?

wind zealot
#

ye

half star
#

oki

#

so try with c) please

wind zealot
#

I'm just gonna ask my teacher tomorrow, but thank so much for the help, I really appreciate it

half star
#

uhh, oki

#

as you wish

#

youre welcome tho

wind zealot
#

Just a quick question

#

how can i improve in math?

#

Do you have any tips or tricks?

half star
#

i'd say just hard work

#

the more u try, the more u understand

wind zealot
#

Okay ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Iโ€™ll try it out this year. Thank you again

half star
#

okay, nice

#

you can always ask people in here for help tho
