Impossible
Explain
im starting to figure out the link between quantum mechanics and general relativity
Have you united gravity and quantum
that part i havnt fully fletched out yet
i dont have the math skills
but essentially i think of the universe as a giant ball thats expanding at the speed of light
and everything is happening everywhere on the ball
Do you understand general relativity
If anything this is special relativity ...
what is special relativity
.
I dont know everything
I don’t think you understand what general relativity is about
what is it about
Geometries and curvature of space and tensors it is only a little more complicated than special ✅
i think my theory combines special relativity and general relativity
What is your theory
well its a start to a theory because i dont have the math yet
this is general relativity right
Um
It's a simplified picture of what general relativity explains mathematically, yes.
im not as deep into the math of it so thats why its hard for you guys to get what im saying
Although "understanding" that mass bends spacetime doesn't mean you understand general relativity.
do you konw the inverse square law
okay. ur right i dont understand the math but i still get the concept
The point is it's a surface level understanding.
the surface level understanding is the fundamentals of it
It's not though. You understand a picture that was created as a way to help people get intuition on the subject.
then what is the fundamentals of it
If it was that easy universities would give out physics degrees to anyone that watches interstellar
you can get the same knowledge someone has witha phd from the internet nowadays
My jab wasn't at the fact that you need a degree, it was just pointing out that understanding a picture doesn't mean you understand the thing at all.
In any case, what you've said so far is that you think the universe is a "ball" expanding at the speed of light with "everything happening everywhere in the ball". This is very vague.
How does this constitute a theory of everything? What does it explain that modern physical model candidates for unifying theories don't?
imo there are a lot of nuances you miss by oversimplifying GR into this one image
like what
It's a full moon soon... I guess the crackpotverse is leaking
so someone expalain what general relativity is
how many dimensions are involved here?
4
what is the source of the curvature of the grid?
what else?
the curviter is gravity the thing responsible for it is mass
energy does not directly bend space and time
it can
but it also doesnt
then, explain the presence of the stress-energy tensor in Einstein's field equations
that's not just math. the fact that a stress-energy tensor is present at all should cue you to the fact that energy also bends spacetime
you don't even need to know the clobbering behind the field equations, but the fact that it is there should clue you into the fact that energy must somehow affect spacetime
why would it be there otherwise?
please tell me you have at least seen this equation.
@oblique furnace can i leave it to you hahah
scared youll get it wrong?
There are complete course about that. Yes, the main idea of GR is the redefining of gravity as the curvature of spacetime warped by mass, but what Hana is trying to get you to understand is that it's a highly simplified statement .. it isn't the whole picture and claiming that you've got GR sorted out by understanding that sentence or an image is like saying you can pilot a plane by watching Snakes on the Plane
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stress–energy_tensor
sure. you wanna dig deep?
The stress–energy tensor, sometimes called the stress–energy–momentum tensor or the energy–momentum tensor, is a tensor field quantity that describes the density and flux of energy and momentum at each point in spacetime, generalizing the stress tensor of Newtonian physics. It is an attribute of matter, radiation, and non-gravitational f...
They've been more than understanding with you, there is no need for the snarky remark.
sorryy
that analogy does not make sense in this situation
because there is no downside to talking out of your ass
and expressing your ideas
I'm not saying there is
for all we know, maybe there IS a theory of everything
i think there is
but if the person claiming to have a ToE doesn't fully understand the fields they're uniting
is the ToE valid?
what are the chances your ToE model is valid?
i'm not against ToEs - far from it
i love linking fields together
idk i havent done any math
but claiming a ToE is a very big deal. ever heard of the Langlands program?
if you have the ability to really construct a rigorous ToE, all the more power to you, and go for it!
but make sure you understand every part of your own ToE and the fields you're combining
yeah
not surface-level, but actually knowing what does what
i'll be honest with you that even I don't fully understand GR and SR
i think with my own theory i understand it but i need to dive deeper for it to be valid
then start here.
and also, your question might be better-suited for the physics server next time
simply put, the LHS is the curvature of spacetime. the RHS has G, the universal gravitational constant, c, the speed of light, and T_mu(rho), the stress-energy tensor
this equation relates them together
i'll give you only this much as this is devolving quickly into a crash course in GR, which is not exactly what help channels are for
9.8
not gravitational acceleration
The gravitational constant is an empirical physical constant that gives the strength of the gravitational field induced by a mass. It is involved in the calculation of gravitational effects in Sir Isaac Newton's law of universal gravitation and in Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity. It is also known as the universal gravitational con...
if you want further answers to your very open-ended questions, i suggest either using discussion or going to the physics server
you are trying to learn p much GR from scratch, which isn't the point of a help channel
nps
You should be thankful she was nice to you
apparently not accepting friend reqs in general is now egoistical lol
If they come back with sufficient knowledge to propose the theory of everything will you accept it then
still no
i feel like that makes sense
idk if you have ever considered that people might have other personal reasons they don't accept friend reqs
maybe they've been harassed before? or maybe a lot of scammers add them?
let's not jump to conclusions from one statement like you did with GR lol
okay im sorry
but if you get harrassed then just block the person
and if its spam just mute notis
thats what i do
and i have 11 thousand discord notis
I found a guy with some very original physics theories on YT and twitter, @ matteras machine
Genuinely simple explanations for the most part , simplifying things like time dilation, and unfiying lots of differnet concepts
first time i've seen a theory of everything crank
first time seeing a BALLUS crank
