each dot is one country
when you’re finding the median, you’re looking for the middlest country
there are 28 countries in the graph, just by counting the dots, so you’re looking for the 14th dot from the right and the 14th dot from the left, and since so many dots are concentrated at 0, the median ends up being 0
the idea is to count the dots, not the labels
