Sub given value of x into second equation
-6(-4y-3) -4y = -82
And now that it is one variable you can solve for y
And once you have y you sub that value into any one of the two equations to solve for x
If u substitute x with y,u dont need to do that but if u substitute y with x then x would stay in the equation
so for the first equation would I then format it as
x = -4 x -4 -3
Nope lemme walk u through this
For the 1st equation find the value of x with respect to y
That is keep x alone at one side and y and other constant on the other side
so would I keep as it is?
Since we know that,
x = -4y - 3
We can substitute all x’s into the second equation,
-6x - 4y = -82
-6(-4y - 3) - 4y = -82
After expanding,
24y + 18 - 4y = -82
Then, you will solve for y, then substitute y back into any equation (I recommend the first), to solve for x.
