so, you need to differentiate the equation, set it equal to 0 and solve for x

you'll see that when you solve for x you'll get 0.5. This means that you've proven that when x = 0.5, y has a minimum value (since that gradient is 0 at x = 0.5)

(12x+3/x)/2 >= sqrt((12x)(3/x))
Equality at: 12x = 3/x
=> x² = 1/4
=> x = ± 0.5
the other method could be making a whole square, as square has minimum value of 0
from that we can get value of x
y=12x^2+ 3/x = 12/x * (x^2+1/4)
x^2+1/4 can be made a whole square of two functions, x+1/2 and x-1/2, check the minimum value of both
