If u dont want calculus you could also use the AM-GM inequality
(12x+3/x)/2 >= sqrt((12x)(3/x))
Equality at: 12x = 3/x
=> x² = 1/4
=> x = ± 0.5

from that we can get value of x

y=12x^2+ 3/x = 12/x * (x^2+1/4)

x^2+1/4 can be made a whole square of two functions, x+1/2 and x-1/2, check the minimum value of both
