I tried replacing it with variables (a to i) but I haven't gotten anything besides -b + d = 4
No replace them all with x and set the rows/columns equal to the numbers on the edge
Like i saw x-x+x=10 somewhere
but wouldn't it assume all numbers are the same?

Assume every square to be a variable from a to i. There are 7 equations, so randomly assume any two to have any values. Nkw you have 7 unknowns and 7 equations, you need to painstakingly solve them.
There is no criteria for the numbers soo
a - b + c = 10
d + e + f = 19
g + h - i = 10
a * d + g = 23
b + e * h = 50
c + f - i = 15
a + e + i = 12
is this not 9 unknowns
