I'm currently in high school and doing calculus. While the this makes sense to me and I can solve the problems I feel like that this is pretty boring as I have no idea of how this could be relevant. And things like well you could calculate x or y doesn't help that much as it's unlikely that I'll need it for that. The other problem is that even though when I find an interesting problem it has no meaning to it as I don't know what the numbers actually mean. For example when calculating what the ideal processing distribution between two servers are, the numbers I get out of it are somewhat meaningless to me. What does 2x and -4x square mean in the function. And what does the output of let's say 5 mean? So I figured I may start at the beginning with translating real world problems into mathematical functions/terms. But as it turns out I'm really struggeling with that. Does anyone know what I can do about it? Because when given the problem I'm just sitting in front of it, maybe can get a term of the function like a very basic one 2x or so but that's then it.

Yeah, just how I can have a certain problem and translate this into a mathematical term in this case a function that is not as simple as 2x or so. Would want to be able to come up with something like 2x square - 3/x to power of 3...
