Ok so I have to review some simple Division math and got stuck here
Do I not have to place a zero in the quotient to bring a zero down
The answer is 14.75
Why did u do that? Just move decimal symbol to the front
Yes, 147.5 is the same thing as 147.50 or 147.500 or even 147.5000…
once you remove the decimal places it becomes 1475/100 so you move 2 decimal places to the left and the answer becomes 14.75
I under stand that but see where I am with the remaning 5
when you need to bring down a zero do you not put a 0 next to the 7 ?
yes I know i should have done it the short way
but i still need to know where i got stuck
If you mean the 7 at the top, you do not. My point is there is nothing special about bringing down the zero as its the same as bringing down all the other numbers you did the previous steps
