I tried firstly with sub x+1=t and got to a nicer form then with t = sqrt(3) / cos u.
however I get a fraction that (can be done) but takes an unbelievable amount of calculations to do so. is there any other way or methods?

That would be my first thought but no it doesn't look like there's a simpler way. If you multiply by the conjugate you still get a disgustingly long thing to integrate.
