the large angle is the sum of the smaller two angles
So all you have to do is subtract the smaller one from the bigger one to find what's left.

i am not a math girl
That just seems like a normal math question for 9th grade. Especially since that's geometry. I'm 8th grade and understand trigonometry though, so sometimes I overestimate the types of questions different grades get.
It's also the case that material from previous years is still necessary and people sometimes forget it, so classes will sometimes include questions from previous years.
