You can simplify the right side by using this identity sin(arctanx)=x/(sqrt(1+x^2)) which when substituting gets simplifies to arctx+1 on the right side, but after that there isn't more simplification you can try exponentiation both sides which becomes 2x^2+6x-8=2^arctanx but that doesn't really simplify into anything, you can find the answer numerically
