What's a "cutting point"?

the answer i got was y= sqrt 12

But first we need to check the domain, 12-8x >= 0 so 3/2 >= x

And then multiply by sqrt(12-8x)
,, 2x(12-8x) = 4x^2

,, 4x^2-2x(12-8x) = 2x(2x-(12-8x))=0
